Dear Potential Employer,
I’m seeking an entry level position in the human services field. I have a BA in
psychology and communication studies and am currently pursuing an MS in mental
health. I also have volunteer experience in the human services field as well as many
years of professional experience. As such, I believe my skills are transferable to an entry
level position in human services, preferably the mental health field.
Empathy and compassion, I believe, are at the heart of human services.
Likewise, I believe good communication skills begin with empathetic listening.
Communication, interpersonal, organization, and computer skills are some of the
strongest professional skills I have to offer your organization. Additionally, I bring the kind
of professionalism that your clients expect.
On the job, I’m able to function both independently and as a team player. I am
self-motivated, yet able to take direction well and learn quickly. You’ll notice that I
maintain high standards in my work. But most importantly, I am enthusiastic about
contributing all that I can.
My qualifications are detailed in the attached résumé. I would welcome a fax or
email for an interview. My days off are Thursdays and Fridays and my contact
information is listed below. I very much appreciate your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Reneé Imes
