1. We support UDOT and DPS activities to improve Highway Safety.
2. We operate the highway system to provide Reliable and Efficient Travel.
3. We provide Accurate, Timely and Useful Real-Time Traffic Information.
4. We Work Together with Other Governments Agencies to Serve the Public.
5. We provide Excellent Customer Service.
HOW WE WILL ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION
1. We support UDOT and DPS activities to improve Highway Safety
a. We support traffic incident management .
b. We support DPS Communications Bureau in rapid, efficient dispatching.
c. We support all UDOT Regions in freeway lighting.
d. We support all UDOT Regions in effective winter maintenance.
e. We provide accurate timely information on road and weather conditions.
2. We operate the highway system to provide Reliable and Efficient Travel
a. We assist Incident Management Team and Highway Patrol in managing incidents.
b. We operate traffic signals efficiently.
c. We operate ramp meters efficiently.
d. We serve as an engineering resource to all of UDOT on traffic operations.
e. We support all Regions in effective winter maintenance to provide reliable travel.
3. We provide Accurate, Timely and Useful Real-Time Traffic Information
a. We operate the road weather conditions * 511 telephone hotline.
b. We keep all information on CommuterLink web site updated.
c. We operate Variable Message Signs, portable signs, and trailblazer signs.
d. We operate Highway Advisory Radio.
e. We provide real-time information to our media partners in television and radio.
4. We Work Together with Other Governments Agencies to Serve the Public
a. We serve all UDOT Regions. We provide seamless operations across Regions.
b. We provide seamless traffic operations with County, and City governments.
c. We provide seamless traffic operations across state lines with neighbor states.
d. We create and maintain productive partnerships with public safety agencies.
e. We help transit agencies to make bus, light rail and other modes work efficiently.
5. We provide Excellent Customer Service
a. We take pride in customer service and will work constantly to improve it.
b. When possible, we will take any UDOT request and be the customer’s last call
c. We will track, follow through and report back on all customer service requests.
d. We will work with other transportation agencies to provide “one-call” service.
e. We will work constantly to understand and to meet the needs of our customers.
