Our client is AIG Europe Belgium. AIG Europe is part of AIU (American International
Underwriters), a global network of international property – casualty operations. AIU
member insurance companies offer a full range of property – casualty products to both
commercial and consumer clients. The AIU network operates in more than 80 countries
worldwide with 10 regional offices in major cities.
AIG Europe has offices in 13 European countries.
AIG Europe Belgium has 150 employees. Its business lines are focusing on the following
products for local and multinational accounts: financial lines, liabilities, property, energy,
accident & health and marine.
For the office in Brussels, AIG Europe Belgium is looking for an underwriter to reinforce
the financial lines department.
Your position
Within the financial lines department, you will function as an underwriter in the Financial
Institutions (F.I.) team and report to the F.I. team leader.
You will be responsible for relationship building with brokers and sometimes clients.
You will function as product champion for one of the F.I. products.
As an underwriter, you will assess, analyse and underwrite important Financial Lines
risks .
You will negotiate, draft and review insurance policies with brokers and sometimes
clients.
You will follow up on renewals and required changes, adapt policy limits and insured
values in accordance with the underwriting guidelines, follow up on claims, insert new
countries,…
You will assist in developing new products and new targets.
Your Profile
You have a Belgian Master degree in Law.
You have 2 to 4 years of experience in a law firm, a consultancy firm or a multinational
company in insurance law, commercial law, corporate law, tax law or general law
matters.
You are figure minded, accurate and you enjoy working in a rather technical
environment.
You are dynamic, motivated, no nonsense, hands on and flexible. You have a can do
attitude.
You can work autonomously and are a team player at the same time.
You are stress resistant, you like to work in a challenging and demanding environment
and you have excellent organisation skills.
You are customer service oriented.
Dutch is your mother tongue. You have working experience in English and have a good
knowledge of French.
