PURCHASING OFFICER

Maximise cost efficiencies utilizing RFQ/Purchasing techniques
Operational Value Add to the department by timely completion of assigned RFQ/Purchasing work
Performance
Investigate and resolve purchase order price variations
Monitor and report on supplier delivery performance through the expediting process
Control of logistics to and from site through the Heavy Vehicle Permitting system
Assist with tendering/contracts process where required
Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable Laws, Regulations and Statutory obligations
Sound understanding of all site procedures and responsibilities
Identify continuous improvement opportunities, develop solutions and act upon them responsibly where required.

Trade/Tertiary Qualifications (desirable)
Skills and Abilities
Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills as part of interfacing with various levels of management and external bodies and agencies.
Ability to work in high pressure and competing priority/ambiguous environments for sustained periods including outside normal business hours, if
