This is a basic health program for horses with lower-risk lifestyles. Horses that are not frequently exposed to other
horses through travel, horse shows, etc. fall into this category. The program will be completed in two visits with a
veterinarian performing physical and dental examinations of your horse. At both visits the veterinarian will make specific
recommendations based on your horse’s needs. A physical is one of the most important diagnostic tools your
veterinarian has for helping you maintain a healthy horse.
Gold—$621
This is a health program for horses with more frequent contact with other horses through boarding or travel. The
program will be completed in three visits with a veterinarian performing physical and dental examinations of your horse
at two of the visits and making specific recommendations based on your horse’s needs. Routine dental care is an
important part of every horse’s well being; this program also includes a routine equilibration (float) and sedation along
with a detailed oral exam using visual dentistry technique to assess your horse’s teeth and entire mouth. A dental report
card will allow you to discuss any exam findings with your veterinarian. If any dental problems, such as loose or
fractured teeth, are identified that require additional treatment, they are not considered part of the wellness program.
Please call to speak with one of our veterinarians if you have questions about which program is right for your horse.
Program Additional Details:
If the enrolled horse is sold remaining services may transfer to a new owner but only if horse is located within the West
Metro service area. Please notify West Metro Equine Practice in advance to confirm and arrange transfer.
The preventative care and wellness programs are nonrefundable and nontransferable between horses, and included
items cannot be omitted for discount or substitution. Horses not previously vaccinated will require additional boosters
and visits which are not included in the wellness program. Emergency visits are not included in either program.
Horses must be at least one year of age to participate in the wellness program. Broodmares are eligible to participate
but will require additional charges for services not included in the wellness program. Additional vaccines and
preventative health services which are not included in the wellness program may be recommended based on history,
stabling, and/or show regimen of each individual horse. Please alert us when scheduling your wellness appointment of
any additional services your horse may need to assure the veterinarian has adequate time to spend with you and your
horse.
Account balances on all of Owner’s accounts must be paid in full prior to enrollment in the wellness plan and future
prepaid services may be denied if account balances at either West Metro Equine Practice or the Veterinary Medical
Center are past due.
