BANTAM AAA SHOWCASE
TECHNICAL PACKAGE
The Bantam AAA Showcase program is a part of the Bantam AAA pilot project set forth at the 2011 Hockey
Manitoba AGM held in May. The event will feature the province’s top Bantam age players from all areas of
Manitoba providing an elite competition & development opportunity for male & female players of this
division/category.
Code of Conduct:
All Bantam AAA Showcase games are exhibitions. All coaches, team staff, players, and fans are expected to
conduct themselves with the highest standard of sportsmanship, fair play, and respect.
Pucks & Water Bottles:
Each team is responsible to supply own pucks & water bottles.
Warm-up:
10 minute warm-up period before each game; please consult “Coaches Schedule” attached for exact warm-up
times. Teams are not allowed to enter the ice prior to their designated warm-up time.
Periods:
2-20 minute periods, 1-15 minute period (2nd period will be 15 minutes)
Overtime/Shootout:
If teams are tied after regulation there will be a 30-second break followed by a 5 minute overtime period. If
teams are still tied after the overtime there will be a 3-player shootout. Each team must immediately designate
3 shooters following the overtime period. If tied after 3-shooters the game will result in a tie.
Home & Away Designation:
Officials will determine the Home Team each game by way of a coin toss. Coaches are expected to meet at the
official’s room 10 minutes prior to their designated warm-up time. All teams listed in the “left” column of the
schedule will wear light uniforms and all teams in the “right” column of the schedule will wear dark uniforms.
Uniforms:
All teams must wear matching style of jerseys & socks each game and must bring a set of home & away
uniforms. All teams listed in the “left” column of the schedule will wear light uniforms and all teams in the
“right” column of the schedule will wear dark uniforms.
All numbers must be properly attached to the jersey, no taped numbers or loosely screened numbers will be
accepted. For scouting & identification purposes, all players must wear the same number throughout the event.
Game Stars:
Off-ice officials will determine game stars each game and will submit to the event organizers at the end of each
day. Each game will have 2 game stars with 1 player being picked from each team.
There will be no formal game star ceremony after games, player names will be posted online as the game-sheet
info is entered. After the event, each game star will be mailed a small prize item from Hockey Manitoba.

Session 2 – 6:00 PM: M-Parkland, M-Pembina Valley, M-Yellowhead, M-Central Plains, F-Interlake, F-Norman,
F-Eastman, F-Parkland, F-Pembina Valley, F-Yellowhead
The development sessions will run at about 90 minutes and will be presented by Bob Caldwell, Head Coach
Mentor of Hockey Manitoba. The session will cover general concepts applicable to the Bantam athlete, along
with specific discussion on modern-day tactics around back-pressure & offensive zone entry.

The player development sessions will cover an introduction seminar for elite athletes as they enter into
competitive levels of the game. The session will give players ideas on what they should be thinking of as
athletes and how to become better players moving forward. Included in this will be specific discussion on
introduction to performance training & nutrition.
