I wish to submit the following report on the meeting conducted at the Vaal Racecourse (sand track) on Monday, 10

THE STARTER REPORTED :
a) COCONUT FIZZ – was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon, injured in the stalls and the start was further
delayed due to VENI VENI getting wedged which necessitated her having to be pulled out from underneath
the starting gates. VENI VENI was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
b) VENI VENI – Trainer L J Human was advised by The Starter to re-school VENI VENI before her next race
and also to present her at the starting stalls for re-grading as should this filly behave again in a similar
manner, her starting stall certificate will be withdrawn and she will be suspended.
c) LAND OF MUSIC, ILCHESTER and ROLLICKING ROMP – slow into stride losing 1 – 2 lengths.

Trainer Mr Tolmay was questioned regarding this filly’s improved performance. The only explanation he
could offer to the Board was the longer distance of today’s race. Mr Tolmay was advised to race LAUREN
SNOW over similar distances in future. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out
running.

(ND). Trainer Erasmus was questioned regarding this gelding’s improved performance. He explained to the
Board that in his opinion this horse is better suited to the shorter distance and FLYING FURY had spread a
near fore shoe in his previous run which had accounted for the poor performance on that occasion. He
further explained that the field today was of a weaker calibre. His explanation was noted, however Trainer
Erasmus was advised to race this gelding over similar distances as today’s in future.

galloped the course riderless. Trainer W Tolmay was advised by the Starter that should this filly behave in a
similar manner again, her starting stall certificate would be withdrawn and the filly suspended and he was
advised to re-school her before her next race.

Mr W van der Walt, the course farrier on duty, did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the
horses that raced at today’s racemeeting.
The passports of all the runners that raced at today’s racemeeting were checked, identities and AHS vaccinations
confirmed, as per normal procedure.
