OUTLOOK 2000 DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL

1. If you have a CD burner (CD-R) or CD writer (CD-RW), download a copy of Office
2K Professional CD1 and a Product Key at http://download.uky.edu/cgi-bin/msd. Once
the ISO image is downloaded to your hard drive, follow the online instructions to burn it
to a CD. The instructions can be found at
http://www.uky.edu/IS/CustomerService/isoburn.
If you do not have a CD burner or CD writer, you will need to go buy a copy on CD from
the UK Computer Store for $5.00. You must obtain the Product Key at
http://download.uky.edu/cgi-bin/msd before using the CD. Select Office 2K Professional
CD1 and check the Product Key Only (NO DOWNLOAD) option.
2. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. After a few seconds, you will see the
following window:
3. Enter in your User Name (your first and last name), your Initials, and type in
„University of Kentucky‟ for the Organization. Next, type in the 25-character Product
Key (5 characters to a box) that you obtained from the UK Download page. Click Next.
4. A new window shows the End User License Agreement. Simply click the check box
at the bottom next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement and then click on
Next.
5. The Ready to Install window will appear. Click on the Install Now button. This will
start the process of installing Microsoft Office 2000 Professional to your computer.
6. After starting installation, a progress bar will be displayed showing that Microsoft
Office 2000 is currently being installed on your computer. The time to complete the
install will vary based on your computer‟s speed. The progress window will look similar
to the following:
7. After Microsoft Office 2000 has finished installing itself on your computer, a small
window will appear telling you that Microsoft Office 2000 Professional setup
completed successfully. Simply click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
8. A Microsoft Outlook icon should be on your desktop. Double-click on it to run
Outlook. The first screen you will see should be labeled Outlook 2000 Startup. Simply
click on Next to proceed with setting up Microsoft Outlook.
9. If you have used a previous version of Outlook, the next screen is labeled Outlook
Mail Usage. Select No and click on Next.
10. The E-mail Service Options window will appear. For an Exchange server e-mail
account – an email address ending in @email.uky.edu – select Corporate or Workgroup
and click on Next.
11. Microsoft Outlook will start and bring up a window asking for your User Name,
Domain, and Password. For User Name enter in your e-mail User ID – the userid in
userid@email.uky.edu. For Domain enter “uky” in lower case. Then for Password enter
your e-mail password. Click OK and you should be logged into your Exchange account.
Every time you run Microsoft Outlook in the future, you should only have to type in your
password to log in.
