1. If you have a CD burner (CD-R) or CD writer (CD-RW), download a copy of Office

2K Professional CD1 and a Product Key at http://download.uky.edu/cgi-bin/msd. Once

the ISO image is downloaded to your hard drive, follow the online instructions to burn it

to a CD. The instructions can be found at

http://www.uky.edu/IS/CustomerService/isoburn.

If you do not have a CD burner or CD writer, you will need to go buy a copy on CD from

the UK Computer Store for $5.00. You must obtain the Product Key at

http://download.uky.edu/cgi-bin/msd before using the CD. Select Office 2K Professional

CD1 and check the Product Key Only (NO DOWNLOAD) option.

4. A new window shows the End User License Agreement. Simply click the check box

at the bottom next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement and then click on

Next.

5. The Ready to Install window will appear. Click on the Install Now button. This will

start the process of installing Microsoft Office 2000 Professional to your computer.

6. After starting installation, a progress bar will be displayed showing that Microsoft

Office 2000 is currently being installed on your computer. The time to complete the

install will vary based on your computer‟s speed. The progress window will look similar

to the following:

7. After Microsoft Office 2000 has finished installing itself on your computer, a small

window will appear telling you that Microsoft Office 2000 Professional setup

completed successfully. Simply click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

8. A Microsoft Outlook icon should be on your desktop. Double-click on it to run

Outlook. The first screen you will see should be labeled Outlook 2000 Startup. Simply

click on Next to proceed with setting up Microsoft Outlook.

9. If you have used a previous version of Outlook, the next screen is labeled Outlook

Mail Usage. Select No and click on Next.

10. The E-mail Service Options window will appear. For an Exchange server e-mail

account – an email address ending in @email.uky.edu – select Corporate or Workgroup

and click on Next.

11. Microsoft Outlook will start and bring up a window asking for your User Name,

Domain, and Password. For User Name enter in your e-mail User ID – the userid in
