Mr. Allen has practiced in the fields of real estate, business, and general civil litigation.

He has engaged in active practice for over 32 years in Alameda County.

Mr. Allen has received over 100 hours of ADR training from the American Arbitration
Association, the American, Alameda County and San Francisco County Bar Associations, the
Better Business Bureau, the NASD and the State Bar of California. He served as a member of
the AAA commercial arbitrators panel for many years. He has been a member of the Alameda
County Superior Court panel of arbitrators for over 20 years. He has also served as a judge pro-
tem for the Oakland Municipal Court/Alameda County Superior Court. He has also served as a
judge pro-tem in Richmond, Concord and Walnut Creek (Contra Costa County Superior Court).
Mr. Allen has been a mediator and an arbitrator for the Alameda County Bar Association since
the inception of its ADR Placement Service. He is a member of the panels of arbitrators and the
mediators for the Contra Costa County Superior Court ADR Program. He is also on the NASD
panel of arbitrators. Mr. Allen developed a community mediation program for the United States
Youth Soccer Association and a curriculum for training mediators. He frequently presents at
CLE programs for CEB, the ABA, the Alameda County Bar Association, Lorman, and other
providers. He has been a lecturer and faculty member for the St. Mary’s College Paralegal
Program and an Adult Education Instructor at Acalanes High School. He has also taught at the
University of California, Berkeley and the Oakland College of Law. He currently is an
Associate Professor teaching at CSU East Bay and the University of Phoenix.

Mr. Allen has authored numerous articles on technology, law office management and ADR. He

by court order): $ 150 per hour per party $ 120.00 (Modest Means)
