1. Name three stores that you like to go to or are taken to frequently.

3. In what city and state will you r business be located?
4. What type of shopping area will you put your store in? A large mall, a small shopping
complex, or will the store be by itself? What will be the name of your store?
5. Why did you choose this business? What do you know about it or want to know? Be
Specific.
6. How big will your store be? Will it be a small business, medium, or very large? Compare
it to a real store that is the same size you want your store to be. Keep in mind what your
business will do and make the store size appropriate and practical. For instance, you
probable wouldn’t need a huge warehouse-type store if you were going to run a sports
shoe store.
7. How will you try to make it a success? Think of how to get there and what you will so to
make them want to come back again. List some of your ideas.
8. Definition of terms:
a. Retail price: The price a store charges its customers for its products.
b. Wholesale price: The price the store owner pays his suppler to purchase the
goods that he sells in his store.
9. List 15 different items that you will stock in you r store. For instance, if you plan to run a
shoe store, list a name brand of shoe and style you would carry. Don’t list another shoe
of the same brand or style for the next item. Also, list the retail price – the price you will
charge your customers. The wholesale price is usually half the retail price. Calculate the
Wholesale Price as one half of the Retail Price.
