About Us
Let's face it: food is at the center of our lives. We need it to sustain us but,
more importantly, it’s a part of who we are. It speaks to our social,
economic and cultural appetites.
At Cook:Eat, we know how busy your life can be. But, no matter how
busy, we trust you still want to offer fresh, well-prepared meals when
you entertain family and friends.
At Cook:Eat we cater for you and we cater to you.
Our meals are fresh, exceptionally prepared and deliciously satisfy-
ing, with an eclectic range of culinary styles for your diverse palette.

About Gail
Hi, I’m Gail Herring and I have a passion for preparing good food. For me,
it’s about satisfying souls as well as stomachs. But I also love to teach – to
share my passion so that others may benefit. So, Cook:Eat is my delight
because I get to do them both!
I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, as the oldest of three
children, with a mom who was the baby of 16! Can you imagine?
Early on, I developed a love for cooking from that southern grandma who
bore those 16 kids and allowed me the privilege of experimenting in her
kitchen. At home in Baltimore, I continued experimenting in the kitchen
and cooking for willing volunteers while continuing to develop my culinary
skills. I knew I was on the right track when my mother asked me how I
learned to cook so well.
Moving to Los Angeles, I was struck by its diverse cuisine and set myself on
a journey to taste and enjoy each one. While intrigued by Mediterranean
and Creole cuisine, I still hold firm to my southern family roots – comfort
foods – with some modifications to make them more “figure friendly.”
Cook:Eat is a labor of love. I love what I do – it’s more than cooking, it’s a
passion! I believe it shows.
