Membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS)
requires a four-year accredited degree followed by at least a
two-year postgraduate degree. To register as a psychologist
in Tasmania, either a four-year accredited degree followed by
appropriate supervised experience, or two years of postgraduate
training is required.
Undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs offered
by the School of Psychology are accredited by the APS.
entry requirements
There is no prerequisite for enrolment in first-year psychology,
but students need to meet the entry requirements for their
intended degree program. Mid-year entry is also possible.
Entry to the BPsych is available to applicants with a tertiary entry
score of 85 and above. There will be a further BPsych intake in Year
3 with applications assessed on the basis of academic merit in
Years 1 and 2.
