Commitment Understanding Contract
Welcome to the Broncettes Dance Team for the 2011-2012 academic year!
To ensure that we have a successful season we would like to lay out what we expect of our team members.
This contract is voluntary.
I. Absences
A. I understand that if I have more than 1 unexcused absence from practice, a game, or event, then I will not
be performing with the team at the next performance.
1. I understand that I will still be present at the event and support the team.
B. I understand that if I have more than 2 unexcused absences from practice, a game, or event in a quarter, I
will not be performing for the rest of the quarter.
1. I understand that I will still attend practices, performances, and events to support the team, even
though I will not perform.
C. I understand that if I have more than 4 unexcused absences from practice, events or games in the year I
will be asked to leave the team.
1. I understand that the Executive Board has final say in this matter.
D. I understand that if I am more than 10 minutes late to practice or performance, without calling ahead or
giving notification I am tardy.
1. This excludes emergencies.
E. I understand that if I am tardy more than 2 times in a quarter it counts as an unexcused absence.
F. I understand an unexcused absence is an absence that was not cleared with the President or Secretary in
advance.
1. I understand the President or Secretary may not agree to clear absences if they do not believe the
reason is valid.
2. I understand they must be emailed 1 week in advance at the very least to
cppbroncettes@gmail.com. (please give notification as soon as possible)
3. This excludes emergencies
G. I understand that if I have more than 2 excused absences to practice the Executive Board will vote to
decide if I will be able to dance in the next performance.
1. I understand that the executive board will have final say in this matter.
2. I understand that if I will not be performing I will still attend the performance and support the
team.
H. I understand that if I have an unexcused absence to a performance, I will meet with the Executive
Board to determine an appropriate consequence for the situation.
1. This excludes emergencies.
I. I understand that if I have an unexcused absence to a fundraiser, there will be a buyout amount equivalent
to the amount raised per girl at the fundraiser.
II. Classes, Grades, and Conduct
A. I understand that I will not schedule classes during calendar events
1. I understand that I will not schedule classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (during
practices)
2. I understand that I will not schedule classes on Fridays or Saturdays after 5:00PM
3. This excludes graduating seniors.
B. I agree to maintain a positive attitude while at practices, events, rehearsals or performances.
1. I understand that the Executive Board will give me a warning if my attitude does not reflect the
team’s spirit.
2. I understand that I will be given this warning only once, after this warning I may be asked to
leave the team if the problem is not corrected, or occurs again.
3. I understand that the Executive Board has final say in this matter.
C. If I have an issue with another member of the team I agree to work it out with the help of the Executive
Board. I also understand that if I have an issue with a member of the Executive Board I will speak with
another member of the Executive Board to solve the problem.
1. Practice, rehearsals, general meetings and performances are not the place to bring up these issues
or discuss these problems.
2. I understand the Executive Board will be discrete and confidential in handling these issues, and I
agree to handle it in the same way.
3. If an issue arises the Executive board will call a meeting with those members involved and try to
come to a mediated compromise or solution.
D. I agree to maintain a 2.5 grade point average quarterly, and will provide the Executive Board with an
unofficial transcript to ensure that my participation on the team does not interfere with my academic
commitments.
1. If I fall below the specified GPA I understand that I will be on probation for the next quarter. I
will still attend practices, events, and performances.
2. I understand that if I fall below the specified GPA and am put on probation I will complete a
required amount of study hours per week (at the discretion of the secretary).
3. I understand that if I am below the specified GPA for two consecutive quarters I will be asked to
leave the team.
E. I agree to pay club dues.
1. I understand that the total of these dues will be provided at each year’s auditions.
2. I understand that this money will be due on a specified date and that if I do not pay on or before
that specified date I will be fined an additional $5 for every day late.
3. I understand that if I do not pay on time, I will not receive clothing and other items at the same
time as the rest of the team.
4. I understand that if I do not pay within a month of the due date, I will be asked to leave the team

5. I understand that payment plans and different options are available at my own request.
6. I also understand that if I chose to leave the team, or I am asked to leave the team I will not get
back the club dues I have already paid.
F. I understand that I may leave the team at any time, and that if I chose to I should notify the Executive
Board.
1. I understand that if I choose to leave the team I will not be allowed to join the team at any time in
the future.
2. I understand that the Executive Board has the final say in this matter.
