The Supernatural

The following message was preached by Pastor Ramesh Pandian

It is God‟s will for His people not only to experience the supernatural but also to live in the

supernatural. As we learn to live in the supernatural, we will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do

the works of God with the power of God. God is ushering us to move into the season of the

supernatural where the miraculous becomes ordinary and natural, or in other words, where the

miraculous becomes a very part of our life. Walking in the supernatural is God‟s plan for the Church.

We may sometimes wonder what the term „supernatural‟ means. To give an example, if we have

started out on a journey by road and soon realize that we‟ve forgotten to fill the gas tank of our car

with fuel, and as we drive along we see no gas station in sight, yet we find that our car does not run

out of gas and we not only reach our destination but travel twice as much the distance with the little

amount of gas that we had in our tank at the onset of on our journey, this is walking in the

supernatural! To go deeper into the meaning of the supernatural, the Bible also records instances in

the early church where the saints of God were translated from one place to another. Let us expect

such a supernatural move of God in our lives even today. When we talk about the supernatural, we

must understand that it is not merely the beginning of the working of the Holy Spirit in our life but

rather the bestowing of God‟s power upon our life. When the power of God gets stronger, it becomes

easy for us to step into the miraculous. Jesus lived in the miraculous realm the entire time He was on

the earth. He did not have a struggle to live in the supernatural. He was in the supernatural being

very much in the natural. Today, God is making provision for us to build a platform for the

supernatural so that the generations to come can follow and take it forward. This is indeed the

season for the Church in Kuwait to get into the supernatural.

It is the Father‟s will to set apart for Himself a people on whom He will bestow His blessings and His

favor. In the Old Testament, we read how the people in the wilderness experienced the supernatural

all the time. We read that neither their clothes got worn out nor their sandals worn out on their feet.

God supernaturally provided them with food and water and they experienced divine provision all the

time! When they were thirsty, God provided water for them out of a rock so that they could drink.

When they were hungry, God gave them manna from heaven. It is said of Moses in Deuteronomy

34:7 that Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor

his strength gone. God saw to it that He provided for His people‟s emotional, physical and spiritual

needs. And so, even today, God wants to take His anointed ones, i.e. His Church into this realm of

supernatural experiences. We need not doubt that we are a marked generation. In the midst of all

our problems, God desires that our heart and thoughts remain very much focused on the Source, i.e.

the One who is able to do everything exceedingly above all that we could ask or imagine. God is

calling out for a holy, prophetic generation who will discern the things of God. Those who desire to

learn of Him and who long for the wisdom of God. He is on the lookout for a group of people who

understand God and godly things. They are full of God and remain connected with Him at all times.

God is raising a new brand of people through whom He will manifest His power and glory as a

witness to the world! It is indeed good to regularly attend the services at a Church we have grown

accustomed to over the years, but God wants us to know that the Church is called to manifest God‟s

power and His glory all the time. This should be the reason for our gathering together as a Church.

Ephesians 3:10 says, “[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom

of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic

rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.” The Church is to have

infinite variety and innumerable aspects of the wisdom of God in her and this is to be made known to

the world through the Church. Hence, we do not go to Church merely for the sake of attendance but

so that the manifold wisdom of God can be revealed! Individually, every person in the body of Christ

is an asset to the Kingdom of God. Whether we believe it or not, we are significant people in the

Scriptures are taken from Amplified Bible

sight of God. Despite all our flaws, God is able to bring about change in our life and use us, His

Church to reveal His wisdom to the world. This is the function of a Church. It does not stop with

mere speaking in unknown tongues or following some traditions laid down by man or even with small

evidences of healings taking place here and there. The main function of a Church is to expose the

many-sided wisdom of God. Hence, we must not look down upon our self, thinking that we are a

„nobody‟ on this earth. When the enemy tries his best to make us feel insignificant, we must resist

his attacks and know for certain that we are very significant people, through whom the presence of

the living God will be manifested. Amidst satan‟s taunting, God reassures us today that we are very

significant in His eyes and that we are very special to Him. We are called by God and we have a

purpose. God is not asking us to live on this earth as mere human beings. Instead, we are called to

live as His representatives, people who will release and display the many-sided wisdom of God to the

powers and principalities in the heavenly sphere. We are not equal to the enemy. On the contrary,

we are higher above the unseen principalities and rulers of darkness. As we represent the manifold

wisdom of God, we bring the supernatural wherever we go. We are not natural. When the enemy

looks at us, he will tremble because He will see God in us! Let us aspire to live in the supernatural all

the days of our life where we become a challenge to the enemy. He will indeed flee from before us

because of the Creator God living inside of us.

We may sometimes wonder what the duty of the Church in Kuwait is. Is the Church to move into the

streets and hand out tracts? Or perhaps, it is the duty of the Church to begin moving into the prisons

and minster to the inmates. However, what God intends for every individual in the Church is to simply

be a person of the supernatural! This is the work of the Church in Kuwait. In 1 John 2:27 we read,

“But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him

abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as

His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in

(live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught

you [to do].” These scripture verses no way imply that one should seclude himself or herself from

being part of a congregation but rather by being rooted in the house of God, we must train our ears

to listen to God through what the anointing inside of us is teaching us. This does not happen on its

own, it happens only when we get connected to the God of the universe and when we start to abide

in Him. People of the supernatural abide in God. We must give the anointing a place to abide in us

so that it can teach us. The Word of God teaches us in Exodus 33:11 that when Moses returned to

the camp after being with God on top of the mountain where there was lightening and thunder,

Joshua did not depart from the temporary prayer tent! This is the place where God is calling us to

be. The way we conduct our life through our words and actions and even our very smile must show

that we are living with the anointing inside of us. The anointing cannot be hidden and will surely be

seen. When the supernatural becomes natural in our life, extraordinary things will happen. God

wants us to reach a place of being rooted in Him, in other words, knit to Him. The anointing that we

receive as a result of abiding in God will teach us concerning everything and so the anointing inside of

us is very important. Let us keep asking the Holy Spirit, „Spirit of God, the Anointed, you teach me.‟

This is the season where God will manifest Himself among His chosen people. Supernatural provision

and supernatural blessing will come to the world through us. We have merely scratched the surface

of the supernatural. By embracing the revelation of the supernatural, our heart and mind will get

connected to God so that we are enveloped by Him and we can boldly confess, „I am in Christ and He

is in me.‟ This becomes our lifestyle. It is God‟s greatest desire that His sons and daughters enter

into this type of covenant relationship with Him. Consequently, all that belongs to God belongs to us.

God is willing to share everything He has with us. Living in this manner where we are completely

focused on God does not seem like a penance but as sons and daughters we enjoy this covenant

relationship with our Heavenly Father. As a result, the windows of heaven will be opened over our

life and we will have supernatural provision! We will encounter supernatural experiences like angelic

visitation. Rays of light of the Son of God will fall over our life and our homes will be filled with the

tangible presence of God. We will step out of the normal and natural and into the supernatural! The

Scriptures are taken from Amplified Bible

rivers of living water will flow out of our bellies continually and we will experience miracles day after

day. Today, God is looking at us the way Jesus looked at His disciples when He said to them in

Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Today, we can

get into the supernatural because it is possible with God. Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will

liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” It is

time for the Church to overflow, to be filled to the full! Our Father has given us a joint seating with

Christ and we have ascended as Christ has, and are seated at the right hand of the Father, with

Christ Jesus, the hope of all Glory. It is in this glory that all our needs will be met. Whatever our

need may be, we will be filled to the full. God wants us to know that in the same way, the

supernatural will be given to those who ask of it.

Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:13, “And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My

Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the

Son.” Here, the Word of God gives us assurance that if we ask anything in Jesus‟ name, He will give

it to us. Hence, we can ask God for the supernatural to be manifested in any area of our life such as

healing, finances and more importantly, for spiritual matters as well. In order to walk in the

supernatural, the main thing we need to do is to trust the arm that holds us. We must make it a

point to follow the finger that shows us the road to the miraculous. In order to trust God whole-

heartedly, we must be mature enough to do so. The supernatural is not for children but is for the

sons of God. It is for those who are willing to yield to God and follow Him. The Bible teaches us that

Christ came as a High Priest not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He

entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption for us. When Jesus

yielded up His Spirit on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom and we,

who were once sinners obtained freedom through Christ‟s death on the cross. The freedom that

Christ purchased for us has already paved the way for us to enter into the miraculous. We may often

think, „How can I make the miraculous a part of my life?‟ „How can I ever know the wisdom of God?‟

Simply put, we must enter the supernatural. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And all of us, as with unveiled

face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are

constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one

degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” To live in the

supernatural, it is essential that we constantly look into the Word of God, which acts as a mirror for

our life and by doing so, these scriptures emphasize that we will indeed be transfigured into His very

image. There may be several things that prevent us from reading and meditating on the Word of

God. However, we must make it a point to constantly do so. When Jesus went up the mountain, the

Bible says that He was transfigured and His clothes became as bright as the sun! There were men

and women of God in this world who lived their lives in such a remarkable manner. It was said that

when people looked at them, they saw bright rays of light beaming through them. Such people had

touched the supernatural realm. They wanted to be changed and transformed into the image of the

Son, Jesus Christ. There were one in a thousand who had such stories. Let this teaching on the

supernatural go deep within us. God wants us to know that our worshipping Him is not in vain. With

God, there is no lack of supply. God will give us the supernatural not in a limited measure but in

ever-increasing splendor. Out of us will radiate the glory of God. When people look at us, they will

see the fire in our eyes and that fire will convict them of their sin. As we walk in the supernatural, we

can expect such things to become very normal and natural in our life. Much more is waiting for those

who are hungry for the supernatural.

In Ephesians 4:11-13 we read, “Christ Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some

evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,

for the edifying of the body of Christ, [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith

and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might

arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the

standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ

Scriptures are taken from Amplified Bible

and the completeness found in Him.” Here, the Apostle Paul was laying emphasis that the functioning

of the different offices in the body of Christ was primarily for edifying the body of Christ in order to

arrive at mature manhood. These verses further describe Jesus as having the completeness of

personality in Him. As God, Jesus had a stature attributed to Him that had reached a perfect or a

complete measure. In like manner, God wants us to come to that place of maturity. To enter into

the supernatural, this is a pre-requisite. Since we are created in the image of God, so too we must

come to the full stature of the fullness and completeness found in Christ. God is bringing His sons and

daughters into this place of maturity. The more we feed on the Word of God, believing and

confessing it, we arrive at maturity on our own. When this happens, our priorities change. Receiving

answers to our prayers does not become the top priority but rather an earnest desire to see the

supernatural manifested in our life. Through all life‟s struggles, we learn to discern that God is

shaping us for something better. 2 Corinthians 3:18 teaches us that as we mature, we go from one

degree of glory to another. We grow by learning from the Word of God, and retaining what we have

learned by bringing it back to our mind time and again until we see the supernatural become a part of

our life. The supernatural is not for nominal Christians; it is not for the „bless-me club‟ Christians. On

the contrary, the supernatural is for radical Christians, those who are willing to say, „come what may‟

or „whatever it takes, we want the supernatural!‟ It is for those who will never give up on God. It is

meant for a people group who have a revelation of God and His purposes, those who ready to go

through the ups and downs of life, with God and yet ready to yield to Him, not rebelling or

questioning Him but willing to change. It is for those who allow God to correct them and change

their lives by constantly asking God, „God, show me where I‟m erring? Are there any mistakes in my

life? Change me, Oh God.‟ People who are yielded to Christ allow Him and His Word to change and

correct them. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to change us by saying, „Holy Spirit, change me and

transform me into the likeness of Christ.‟ When things go wrong in our life, let us humbly search our

heart and ask God, „Why did this happen to me?‟ „Is there something you are trying to say to me or

am I only imagining in my heart?‟, „Where should I change God?‟, „Is there something in my life

grieving you?‟ Let us ask our self this question, ‟Is it easy for me to be yielded when someone

corrects me?‟ Can we truly allow God to speak to us about any and every area of our life? If the

answer is yes, this is called radical Christianity. In being transformed, it is important we realize that

the transformation process that takes place within us cannot be accomplished by our own human

effort but by the Spirit of God living in us. Let us tear the mask from our face and cry out to the Lord

to change us as He likes. Are we willing to die to our self in the areas that God reveals to us? A

dead person has no feelings. Because there are areas not completely yielded to God, we experience

pain when things do not go the way we want them to. However, God wants us to die in certain areas

of our life. When we reach a place where we do not hurt when we are accused or neglected, it

means that we are dead in those areas. It is not right for us to demand from God that He answers

our prayers and tell Him that His name will be glorified in doing so. There are times that God takes

us through difficult paths where He wants us to die to self. This is the path for the supernatural. We

die to name, fame and every glory that we desire to carry. We may have our own will, our plans and

goals, but God is telling us today to yield those things up to Him. Special people go through special

problems as they have a special plan of God for their life! Through all our problems, God wants to

remind us that we are indeed special in His sight. Let us not become like Lot‟s wife who turned back

to look at the things she had left behind and in the process, she became a pillar of God. No damage

will occur to our life if we die to the things that God is asking us to let go of. In Matthew 16:24 we

read, “Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself

[disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow

Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].”

Let us ask the Lord to give us grace to die in those areas that He is exposing to us.

The Bible teaches us in Philippians 2:7 that Jesus stripped Himself of all privileges and rightful dignity,

so as to assume the guise of a servant. In Him, were the divine attributes of God and yet He chose

to humble Himself in that He became like man and was born a human being. To live in the

Scriptures are taken from Amplified Bible

supernatural, we must follow Christ‟s sacrificial pattern and discard the „I, me and mine‟ mentality.

Let us closely examine how Jesus lived when He walked on the earth. Jesus carried the supernatural

wherever He went. Knowing that He was to endure death on the cross, Jesus said to His disciples in

John 12:32, “But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” Furthermore, it

is also written of Jesus in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the

[Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in

particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with

Him.” Let this become the report of our lives as well. Is it possible for a human being to arrive at such

a place? The answer is yes. Jesus said that we would do all that He did and more! Let Jesus be the

example we follow for the supernatural. If we have turned lukewarm, let us run to Him and ask Him

to fill us once again with His holy fire. Let us not settle down with shallow Christianity. Can God trust

us with difficult paths? Soldiers who have gone into the battlefield do not return back until their

mission on the battleground is completed. God is training us so that we can rule and reign over our

situations. With God, we have the power to win over all our struggles. We are in no way defeated

Christians but those who stand victorious in Christ. God is on the job of raising up His children to

come into full maturity. He will enable us to do the work that Jesus did. Our shadow will heal the

sick. Power, ability and strength from above will be given to us. God will take our hand and lead us.

The supernatural will become natural as we grow into maturity. We will walk into the supernatural.

How hungry are we to live a life of power, full of the anointing? Are we willing to say, „Whatever it

takes, we want the supernatural? Let us turn to God in total surrender saying „yes‟ to Him and His

plan of the supernatural for our life.
