					HOW TO CREATE A WEBPAGE USING PUBLISHER
1. Open Publisher by clicking Start/Programs/Publisher
2. In the New Publications Pane on left pane choose Web Sites On right choose the
   template that fits your needs. Double click on the template.
        If you do not want to use a template, then click on the Website Options Menu (grey menu
         bar) click on black triangle and select New Publication. Also, change By Publication
         Type to By Blank Publication. On the right pane click on Webpage. Your new blank
         webpage should appear.
        Before you begin you must change your page setting on both a template and a blank
         page. To do this click on File and select Page Setup. While viewing the Layout tab
         change the Publication type to Web page and in the Page size window click on
         Custom. Change the width to 8.5 and leave the height at 14. If later you need a longer
         page you can change the height. Click OK.
        To name your page, select Tools and click on Options. Select the Web Options button
         and on the General tab type the name of your page in the blank to the right of Page title.
         The name will show on the blue bar when your page is on the web. If you add more pages
         to your website, give each page a name. Click OK, OK.
        Click File and Save As name your webpage. Any name you want to use. (If you do not
         have Publisher or you have an earlier version change the Save As Type to Publisher
         2000. Click Save. Save as you work throughout your webpage.
        As you work on your webpage, you can see what it would look like on the web by going
         to File and Webpage Preview. You must either choose Current Page (the one your
         working on) or Web page, which would give you all of your pages.
3.   A personal information dialog box may appear. Click OK and then Cancel.
4.   In the Web Sites Option Pane, click Color Schemes. Select one of the color scheme
     options or click the Custom Color Scheme to make one of your own.
        If you are working on a blank page and want to use Custom Color Schemes Click Format and
         Quick Publication Options in the menu bar at the top.
5.   Click the back arrow in the Color Scheme Window to return to other options.
6.   A navigation bar provides links to other pages within your site. If you are using a
     template and want a navigation bar located on the left of the page, as well as linked
     page titles on the bottom of the page select Multiple. If you want a navigation bar on
     the left side only, then click One.
        On a blank page you must manually hyperlink your buttons. See #7 under Enhancing your
         Webpage.
7. In the Form section, select a form if you would like one leave the default of None.
8. Click the link for Font Schemes. Choose a Font Scheme.
        If you are working on a blank page and want to use Font Schemes click Format and Quick
         Publication Options in the menu bar at the top.
9. Use the back arrow in Font Scheme Pane to return to the other options.
10. Click the Background fill and sound link. In the Background Pane, click a color or
    click More colors link for more choices. Click one of the backgrounds in the
    Background Pane to apply or click More backgrounds for additional gradients,
    textures, patterns and tints. When changes are complete click OK.
      If you are on a Blank Publication select Format and Background. Choose a color or select More
       Backgrounds for additional choices.
      You can also bring in backgrounds by selecting Insert and clicking Clipart on the menu bar.
       Search for backgrounds. When you have found one, click the bar on right of picture and select
       insert. Stretch the background to fit your page.
      Backgrounds can also be found by selecting Clips Online in the Insert/ Clip Art window. In the
       Design Gallery Live window, type backgrounds in the Search For window and in the Search In
       window scroll down and choose from the list ex: backgrounds and web backgrounds. After finding
       a background, click on the grey rectangle underneath to download. These clips will go into your
       Clip organizer. Close out of the Internet and find your background in the downloaded clips.
       When you click on it a menu bar will appear on the right side. Choose copy and then paste onto
       your webpage. Stretch until you have covered your page.
      Important: When searching, there may be several pages to scroll through.
11. To add sound, click the Background fill and sound link in the Web Site Options
    Pane and click Background sound in the Background Pane. A Web Options
    window will appear. Click Browse on the General Tab and a list of sounds found in
    Publisher will appear. To listen to the sound, right click on the sound and select play.
    If your sounds are located somewhere else on your computer, you must use the arrow
    in the Look In dialog box to locate it. Once you have selected a sound, click Open.
    The sound name should now be in the File Name box. Also, select Loop Forever or
    Loop and choose how many times. When finished click OK.
12. To add additional pages to your website click on Insert page in the left pane at the
    bottom. Choose the type of page you would like by changing the page type at the top.
      If you want a blank page, select More Options. Select the number of pages, before or after current
       page, and insert blank page.
      Be sure Add hyper link is checked to add this page to your navigation bar. You should be able to
       see your additional pages on bottom
      Inserting a page can also be found under Insert on the menu bar.


You may change any of the earlier options by returning to the Web Site Options Task Pane
and selecting the subject area to change. To view the Task Pane if it has been closed, on
the View menu Select Task Pane
