Balancing Life Goals – The Game

Instructions

1. You may work alone or in teams of no more than 3 or 4 people.

2. Game must be able to be played by at least 4 people.

3. Game must be based on a career or multiple careers. Games not based on

careers will automatically receive the lowest grade possible. For example,

you may NOT create a game about “cars”. However, if you want to create a

game about being an auto mechanic, that is acceptable.

4. Game must include different components of your chosen career(s) and must

include some elements of the classroom discussion on Balancing Life Goals

(financial resources, personal satisfaction, family life, goals, priorities, asking

for help, workplace policies, etc.)

5. Game title must be relevant to the career(s) chosen.

6. Game must include some way to move around the board (dice, spinner,

draw cards, etc.)

7. Game must include at least 20 game cards. How the cards are used is up to

the individual/team.

8. Game must be accompanied by a sheet of instructions when turned in.

Instructions must be legible and easy to understand.

9. All students will be graded on participation during each class. The

participation grade will directly affect both the individual and team grades

for the project.

At the end of the project, the following must be handed in:

a. 1 game board

b. At least 20 game cards

c. Method of moving around the board (dice, spinner, etc.)

d. Game pieces

e. Instructions sheet

f. Sheet containing the name of the individual or team members, along

with the career(s) chosen, and name of the game

IMPORTANT – It is extremely important that all students follow instructions during this project. Due to the limited time in each

class period, it is absolutely necessary to clean up the work areas and the room when asked. Students who fail to follow

directions will see his or her participation grades lowered. All materials belonging to the teacher must also be returned at the

end of the class/project. Failure to do so will result in the lowering of grades and/or cancellation of further projects such as this.
