Run Baby Run
PROBLEM-
Which Gender Can Run Further in 10 min?
INTRODUCTION-
Have you ever wondered which gender ran further? Well that’s why I
picked this project. I’ve always wanted to know. Because we have a lot of
kids that can probably run really fast but I don’t know if they can run far.
They can get tired fast and so they would probably lose a 100 meter dash.
But I want to know if girls can out run boys.
BACKGROUND INFO-
When boys grow up they grow stronger to. Test over years show that
boys have always been faster than some girls. But some girls are faster than
most boys. Girls can also be stronger. Some girls were born with this and
others train for it. But over all its pretty much a tie for who is stronger and
faster.
HYPOTHESIS-
I think the girls will run further because even though they are girls
we have a lot of sporty girls. The boys sometimes get tired fast then the
girls too. But it might just be a close tie.
MATERIALS-
1. 3 boys
2. 3 girls
3. treadmills for everybody
4. gym clothes
INDEPENDENT VARIABLES-
Which gender ran faster?
DEPENDENT VARIAABLES-
Which gender traveled the farthest?
PROCEDURE-
1. Gather all material
2. Go to the work out room
3. Take a couple of people and put them on the treadmills
4. Set the speed the same for everybody
5. Keep on speeding up the speed
6. Wait until the 10 min. is up
7. Write down there results
RESULTS-
Layne- 1.05 miles
Trae- 1.22 miles
Kash- 1.43 miles
Tori-1.06 miles
Aubree- 1.33 miles
Chelsey- 0.93 miles
CONCLUSION-
It was a pretty close tie. Kash and Aubree were close but Kash beat
her. Then it was Trae was next after Aubree and then Layne. Tori and Layne
got pretty close but Tori got .01 more miles. It was a tie I think cause it all
balances out.
POSSIBLE CAUSE OF ERROR-
Someone just walking not trying hard
Leaning up against the bars
Stopping the treadmill and starting over
Resting and then keep going
Having a different time for each person
