• Defends the body

• Return fluid to
  venous system
  through junction of
  internal jugular and
  subclavian vein

2. thymus:
  1. Maturing T cells (lymphocyte)
  2. Between sternum and aorta.
          3. Lymph nodes
• Located along lymphatic vessels
• Remove foreign material from lymphatic
  stream
• Contain lymphocytes (WBCs)
                4. spleen
•   filters blood of bacteria, viruses, and
    other debris, including worn-out RBCs.
•   Location: curls around stomach
5. M.A.L.T.
 • Mucosa-associated
   lymphatic tissue
 • Scattered in mucous
   membranes
   (gastrointestinal, urinary,
   reproductive tracts, and airways)
 • Include:
