President’s Message
This is a very busy time of the year for our local businesses. Our little towns are
bustling with activity and the River area looks beautiful. Check out the hanging
baskets and banners on Main St. in Guerneville and the banners on the Monte
Rio Bridge. Also, some good press coverage regarding the renaissance of Russian River
the River Area has been featured in the Press Democrat. The new stores are
generating some great publicity and the Vineman Events have increased our Wineglasses
spotlight, too.
We all know what a great place we have and we are stewards of its beauty and
viability. We get to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas of the world
and meet folks who have travelled, sometimes, thousands of miles to see our
amazing area. Are we perfect? Well no, but, pretty darn close – diverse and
interesting? Definitely!
This month, please note the mixer is a very special mixer, on the second
Wednesday of August at D&G Properties on Mill St at 6pm. Check out the
flyer in this newsletter- Food, Wine, Music, great company! Please bring your
business cards too! September Mixer is at the old Marshall House behind the
Senior Center and Diana Nolan will be presenting the Downtown Merchants
Watch program.
On a serious note, time to think of the upcoming election for Board Members for
the Russian River Chamber. The current board has worked hard and has been
very diligent in attending our board meetings, volunteering for extra work and
following through on projects. We are looking for Chamber members to consid-
er standing for election. The commitment is one Board meeting per month and
