Mainly because this is the country's most beautiful shore: it is full of bays, curving, teeming with life, and mainly it lends itself to pleasant and intimate meandering, when the lights of the northern Israeli cities twinkle from the south, and the rocky and luminous white top of the Rosh Hanikra cliff rises up in the north. The route is an easy 2-2.5 miles of sea, shore, and whatever lies between. You simply walk north between the pastoral lagoons filled with crabs, algae, and minnows, stop for a moment or an hour at a spot that caught your eye, combine small talk with some night fishermen or have an improvised picnic on the beach. This is a route without any predefined rules. Total pleasure. The route ends before the actual Rosh Hanikra cliff (you can't access the caves via this route). Simply make your way back or take a taxi back to the car.
