*CALL TO CONFESSION
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Jesus Lord, you invite us in the Lord's Prayer to address God in intimate,
devoted family terms, as our Abba, our Father.
Abba, forgive us when we fail to accept the closeness of your presence.
Jesus, you taught us to pray that God's kingdom will come,
yet we confess that the kingdom values of justice and righteousness and peace are not widely known.
Abba, forgive us when our inaction has contributed to continued suffering.
Jesus, you taught us to pray for our daily bread, and to pray to be led away from temptation.
Abba, forgive us when we believe that we have created our own blessings,
that virtue is of our own making.
