ACT and Henderson County JobLink Center at Blue Ridge Community College are pleased to announce: North Carolina WorkKeys Profiler Training for Summer 2008 WHY become a certified ACT WorkKeys Profiler: To Provide a High Quality Business Service to Local Companies The WorkKeys System is a powerful and effective business service. The system is most effective when all the components are used: Profiling - Job Analysis Assessment - WorkKeys Testing Training - WIN or Keytrain Curriculum Certification - State and National Career Readiness Certification The WorkKeys System has the potential to increase the core skills of North Carolina workers and prepare companies to compete in the marketplace regionally, nationally and globally. Nation wide case studies conducted with companies using this system report significant benefits, including increased profits, decreased turnover, effective applicant screening and increased employee productivity. North Carolina now has the potential to implement this system in every county, region, service area. To Establish In-Depth Business Relationships with Local Companies The process of WorkKeys profiling is intensive. During a session, the Profiler spends many hours with various company employees, forming professional relationships and learning about the company’s processes, challenges and issues. WHAT WorkKeys Profiler Training involves: The Trainee will acquire primary WorkKeys Profiler skills in a 6 week distance learning program, followed by an intensive 3 ½ day group session. WHEN training will take place: Six weeks of distance learning will begin in late spring of 2008 and end with a 3 ½ day group training session in summer 2008. (NC location and exact times TBA). WHERE training will take place: Distance learning will be at the trainee’s work/home, including 3 required web-casts. The final 3.5 days of training will be scheduled in a group setting mid-state, somewhere in the Greensboro area. COST: • $2,300 made payable to Blue Ridge Community College $2,000 non-refundable ACT Registration Fee $ 300 non-refundable BRCC Administration and Handling Fee • Lap top computer and portable printer • Travel expenses for the final 3.5 days of group training Immediately on completion of Profiler Training: $1600 is due to ACT for the first year’s license fee. The newly trained WorkKeys Profiler must then conduct a minimum of four profiles per year and pay a yearly license fee of $1600 to ACT to maintain license. HOW to Apply: STEP I: SPONSORING ORGANIZATION SENDS COMMITMENT LETTER • The Sponsoring Organization funding WorkKeys Profiler Training must send a letter on the Organization’s Letterhead, committing in writing, to the non-refundable $2300 Registration and Handling fee. • Please include the applicant’s contact information in this letter. • The letter must be postmarked on or before Friday, February 15, 2008. • The letter must include this statement: “This letter is our commitment to train a WorkKeys Profiler, if our Applicant is selected for the Applicant Pool. We understand that when our applicant is selected for training, the commitment of the $2300 Fee for ACT WorkKeys Profiler Registration, Administration and Handling is due to Blue Ridge Community College. I understand that this fee is due and non refundable, whether or not our trainee cancels training.” Send this letter to: Julie Thompson, Henderson County JobLink Career Center 180 West Campus Drive Flat Rock, NC 28731 STEP II: APPLICANT COMPLETES ACT APPLICATION (After February 15, when Applicant is notified of Applicant Pool selection) JobLink at Blue Ridge Community College will notify individuals of acceptance into the NC WorkKeys Profiler Spring/Summer Training 08 Applicant Pool on a first come - first served basis, according to date and time the above Commitment Letter is received. Upon notification of acceptance into the Profiler Training 08 Applicant Pool, Applicants will receive instructions on how to complete WorkKeys Profiler Training application. Applicants must submit applications to ACT by Friday, March 7. STEP III: SPONSORING ORGANIZATION PAYS REGISTRATION FEE TO BLUE RIDGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE ACT will notify JobLink at Blue Ridge Community College and each Sponsoring Organization when applicants are approved as ACT Profiler Trainees. Upon notification of an Applicant’s acceptance as a Trainee, the Sponsoring Organization will receive an invoice from and send a check for $2300 to Blue Ridge Community College.
