following posts through deputation (including short term contract)/absorption basis in the LNJN National

Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science(MHA), Delhi :

from a recognized university or equivalent.

(ii) Five years’ experience of working in a Forensic Science

Laboratory.

Desirable

Ph.D Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (PHYSICS)

Essential

(i) Master’s Degree in Physics/Forensic Science from a recognized

university or equivalent.

(ii) Five years’ experience of working in a Forensic Science

Laboratory.

Desirable

Ph.D Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (DNA & SEROLOGY)

Essential

(i) Master’s Degree in Human Genetics/Bio-chemistry/Forensic

Science/Microbiology/Botany/Zoology/Physical Anthropology from

a recognized university or equivalent.

(ii) Five years’ experience of working in a Forensic Science

Laboratory.

Desirable

Ph.D Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Officer in each of in each Territories/Universities/Recognised Research Institutions/ Public

Photography, (ii) with five years’ service in the grade rendered after

DNA & Serology appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the scale of pay of

and Narcotics Rs. 6500-10500 or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or

Rs 8000 -275 - (iii) with eight years’ service in the grade rendered after

13500 appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the scale of pay of

Rs. 5500-9000 or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and

(b) possessing the following education qualifications and

experience:

Senior Scientific Officer (Ballistics)

(i) Master’s Degree in Physics or Mathematics or Forensic

Science with Physics or Mathematics as one of the subjects at

Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University or

equivalent.

(ii) Three years’ experience of research analysis or teaching in

Ballistics in a Forensic Science Laboratory or any other

recognized Institution.

Senior Scientific Officer (Documents)

(i) Master’s Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Forensic Science

with Physics or Chemistry as one of the subjects at Bachelor of

Science level from a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) Three years’ experience in examination of documents in

Government Documents Examiner’s office or a Forensic Science

Laboratory or any other recognized Institution.

Senior Scientific Officer (Biology)

(i) Master’s Degree in

(a) Botany/Zoology with Botany or Zoology as one of the

subjects at Bachelor of Science level; or

(b) Physical Anthropology with Botany or Zoology as one of

the subjects at Bachelor of Science level; or

(c ) Forensic Science with Botany or Zoology as one of the

subjects at Bachelor of Science level; or

(d) Human Genetics with Botany or Zoology as one of the

subjects at Bachelor of Science level.

(ii) Three years’ experience of research analysis or teaching in

any of the above subjects in a Forensic Science Laboratory or any

other recognized Institution.

Senior Scientific Officer (Photography)

Essential

A(i) Master’s Degree in Science or Forensic Science of a

recognized University or equivalent and

(ii) Three years’ practical experience in all branches of

photographic work; OR

B(i) Degree of a recognized University

(ii) Seven years’ practical experience in all branches of

photographic work

Desirable

(i) Diploma or Certificate in Photography

(ii) One years’ experience of teaching or training in the field of

Photography

Senior Scientific Officer (DNA & Serology)

(i) Master’s Degree in

(a) Zoology or Microbiology or Bio Technology with Zoology

as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level; or

(b) Forensic Science with Zoology as one of the subject at

Bachelor of Science level; or

( c) Genetics with Zoology as one of the subject at Bachelor of

Science level from a recognized university or equivalent.

(ii) Three years’ experience of research analysis or teaching in

any of the above subjects or immunological or Hematological

work or blood grouping analysis in human and animal blood

stains, saliva or semen stains in a DNA Fingerprinting Laboratory

or Forensic Science Laboratory or any other recognized

Institution.

Senior Scientific Officer (Narcotics)

(i) Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Pharmacology or Pharmacy

or Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects at

Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University or

equivalent.

(ii) Three years’ experience of research analysis or teaching in the

subject concerned in a Forensic Science Laboratory or any other

recognized Institution.

3 Reader 01 (One) Officers under the Central Government/ State Governments /

(Psychology) Union Territories / Public Sector

Rs 10000 – 325 - Undertakings/Universities and Recognized Research Institutions

15200 Autonomous Bodies/ Semi Governments or Statutory

Organisations:

(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis; OR

(ii) with five years’ regular service in posts in the scale of

Rs.8,000-13500 or equivalent; and

(b) Possessing the educational qualifications and experience, as

under:-

Essential

(i) Master’s Degree in Psychology with specialization in Criminal

Psychology or Social Psychology from recognized University or

equivalent.

ii) Five years experience of Teaching and/ or Research.



Note: 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC

in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.



 Note: 2 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable

at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates belonging

to Schedule Castes or Scheduled Tribes. If at any stage of

selection the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of

candidates from these communities possessing the requisite

experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts

reserved for them.

2. The Departmental Lecturer with five years regular service

in the grade shall also be considered alongwith deputationists and

in case he/she is selected for appointment to the posts, the same

shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion.



(The Departmental Officers in the feeder category who are

in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for

consideration for appointment on deputation/contract. Similarly,

deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for

appointment by promotion. Period of deputation/contract

including period of deputation/contract in another ex-cadre post

held immediately preceeding this appointment in the same or some

other organization/department of the Central Government shall

ordinarily not exceed three years. The maximum age limit for

appointment by deputation/contract shall be not exceeding 56 years

as on closing date of receipt of application).



Broad nature of duties

The Reader (Psychology) at Loknayak Jayaprakash

Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science

will have to undertake teaching, training, research and consultancy

in the respective field. He/She will also have to assist the Director,

LNJN NICFS.

Assistant recognized Research Institutions or Universities or Public Sector

(Documents) Undertakings or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous

Rs 5500 – 175 - Organisations :

9000

(a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent

cadre or department; or

(ii) with three years’ service in the grade rendered after

appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the scale of pay

of Rs.5000-8000 or equivalent in the parent cadre or

department; or



(iii) with six years’ service in the grade rendered after

appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the scale of pay

of Rs.4500-7000 or equivalent in the parent cadre or

department; or

(iv) with ten years’ service in the grade rendered after

appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the scale of pay

of Rs.4000-6000 or equivalent in the parent cadre or

department; and

(b) possessing the educational qualifications and experience, as

under:-



Essential

i) Master’s Degree in Physics or Chemistry from a recognised

University or equivalent;

ii) One year’s experience in examination of documents in

Government Document Examiner’s Office or a Forensic Science

Laboratory of Central Government or State Government or any

recognized research institution.

Note:-



1. Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in

case of candidates otherwise well qualified.



2. 2. The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the

discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates belonging to

the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of

selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of

candidates from these communities possessing the requisite

experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts

reserved for them.



Officers selected for the above posts shall be on deputation for a period of three years, which can be

extended or curtailed in public interest, depending on administrative convenience. The pay of the Officer

selected will be regulated in accordance with the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension

(Department of Personnel & Training) O.M. No.13024/2/90-Trg dated 27.12.1993, i.e. the officers will be

allowed Training Allowance @ 15% of his/her basic pay drawn from time to time in the parent pay scale.

They will not be allowed the option of drawing the pay of the post in lieu of training allowance. The

maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of

receipt of applications.



2. Officers who volunteer for the above posts will not be permitted to withdraw their names after

selection. Recommendations of names, which are not accompanied by the requisite bio-data and CR

dossiers, will not be considered.



3. Applications of suitable officers, who are eligible and willing and who can be spared immediately on

selection, may please be forwarded in Annexure-I, in duplicate, alongwith attested photocopies of CR

dossiers for the last five years, to the Director, LNJN National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science

(MHA), Outer Ring Road, Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi - 110 085 within 60 days from the date of publication of

this circular in the "Employment News". This advertisement is also available on our website
