Bonner Leaders Program

Participant Agreement 2008-2009



As a participant in the UC Berkeley Bonner Leaders Program at the Cal Corps Public Service Center I understand that staff will

assist me in holding my performance to the highest standard and that I will be expected to: (Please initial on the provided lines):



_____ Represent the Cal Corps Public Service Center, the Bonner Leaders Program, and my individual program to

the very best of my ability, to take initiative and be creative in my work, bringing my own excellence and

experiences to everything I do. Meet the responsibilities of my position description and complete

performance appraisals with my supervisor



_____ Ensure that 15-20% of my total hours (approximately 60 hours for 300 hour position) involve training

and development over the span of my Bonner commitment. Prepare for, attend, and actively participate

in all required leadership training activities and programs, including all Bonner retreats, individual

advising sessions, cohort workshops, tracks and All-Bonner gatherings as scheduled in Bonner Program

Calendar 2008-09.



_____ Participate in all mandatory days of service.



_____ Complete all AmeriCorps paperwork, including CLAs, Service Accomplishments, and monthly

timesheets. Complete my term of service as mandated by the Bonner AmeriCorps Program.



_____ Complete an individual development plan (IDP), end of semester reflection papers, and Healthy

Community Project.



_____ Aim for a healthy balance between the Bonner program, social life, and academics. Academics should be

my primary responsibility and that I cannot be in the office when I should be in class.



_____ Make a consistent and committed effort to maintain and strengthen public service programs on campus.

Ensure that 5% of my total hours (approximately 15 hours for 300 hour positions) are dedicated to general

Cal Corps outreach efforts, embodying the phrase, “Everybody, everyday”.



_____ Strive to meet community needs in a sustainable way. Provide high quality, valuable service to the

community, taking into account community input at every stage of my project/program



_____ Communicate important developments to my Cal Corps staff supervisor and adviser. Maintain a

functioning e-mail account that I check regularly (once a day) and respond to requests related to my Bonner

Leaders placement within 2 business days.



_____ Adhere to “Bonner Program Basics”



I give permission for Cal Corps to list my email address on its website and distribute to social action agencies

associated with my Bonner position. I also give permission for Cal Corps to post my photo and bio in the Cal

Corps office and on its website, as well as share all of or pieces of my reflection papers for program assessment

and marketing.
