2007-2008 Bonner Leader Program Cal Corps Public Service Center University of California, Berkeley
Volunteer Manager Host Site Application 2007-2008
The Cal Corps Public Service Center partners with local community-based organizations and schools to provide them with Volunteer Managers through our Bonner Leaders AmeriCorps program. Volunteer Managers participate in intensive Cal Corps training, which prepares them to recruit, train, and manage volunteers from the UC-Berkeley campus and the wider community. Volunteer Managers also manage volunteer programs, organize trainings, administer program paperwork, and coordinate volunteer recognition events. In exchange for a year of service, Volunteer Managers receive a $1,000 scholarship through the federal AmeriCorps program, optional UCB course credit, extensive leadership and professional development, and membership in the nationally recognized Bonner Leaders Program. We invite organizations and programs interested in hosting a Volunteer Manager to fill out the attached application and email it to Carrie Donovan at carriedonovan@berkeley.edu by January 27, 2007. Please review the host site eligibility requirements and our selection criteria below before applying. We will review your application and determine whether your program is a good fit for a Volunteer Manager. If we feel we need more information about your program in order to make a decision, we will contact you for a phone interview. We will alert all applicants of their status by February 28, 2007. Host Site Eligibility Requirements In order to be eligible to host a Volunteer Manager your program must: Be located in the East Bay, with preference given to programs located in Southwest Berkeley or Lower San Antonio/Fruitvale. Be accessible by public transportation. Designate a staff member who will serve as a supervisor to the Volunteer Manager.
