___ Community Partnerships Academy at Berkeley High School is a college preparatory small school that prepares students for
professions that serve community needs. We incorporate service learning throughout our program to introduce students to
professionals and issues in health, education, law and government. Destination: College members help to coordinate service
learning projects, internship placements, and our college and career preparation program as well as providing academic support
including lunchtime and after-school tutoring. Members work closely with a teacher to facilitate a particular program area. Members
can coordinate work hours around class schedules, but availability in the afternoon allows for more direct interaction with youth.
___ The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is a pre-college advising and academic enrichment program that helps
prepare high school students, especially those who are low-income and/or first generation college-going, for higher education
including the University of California. Members will provide individual and small group pre-college advising and mentoring; monitor
students' academic progress; maintain a regular school-site visit schedule, and assist with orientations and events. All members will
be required to work 2-3 Saturday during the academic year and MUST be available to work at their assigned Partner High School at
least four hours a day/two days a week between the hours of 8:30am and 3:00pm. Members can anticipate a travel time to the
school site of up to one-hour each way.
___ The School/University Partnership Program (SUP) works directly with select Bay Area K-12 schools and community sites to
increase access to higher education for students who face barriers to going to college. SUP activities are directed toward this goal
by assisting schools and communities in fostering and enhancing the college-going culture that will help students meet their
academic potential. Sites include: UC Berkeley’s newly established public charter early college secondary school, CAL Prep in
Berkeley; an Oakland high school College and Career Center; an elementary school in the Oakland Fruitvale community “Think
College Now” working with families to increase their leadership and involvement in college readiness; and a new initiative in Oakland
Unified to support high school students’ successful transition to community college and transfer. Members must be available by the
end of August and availability between 3:30-5pm are preferred but not required.

critical thinking, conflict resolution, and more. Destination: College Members will provide academic and college/career support to
