Successful completion of this 3 hour workshop will entitle the individual to special perks, such as increased flexibility in reserving outdoor locations and MLK rooms! Berkeley Project needs more Site Leaders!

Site leading is a low-commitment, fun opportunity to gain experience as a service project leader. As a Site Leader you will oversee ONE specific project on Berkeley Project Day, November 15, 2008. Your responsibilities include contacting the community organization to finalize the small, nitty-gritty but important details of the project (ie. can the site provide water?), contacting volunteers who signed-up for your project with appropriate information, and leader the group of volunteers on the day of! You will work closely with Volunteer Director, Caroline Szymanska. Projects range from community enriching activities such as arts-and-crafts and assisting the elderly to urban beautification such as repairing bike paths and painting benches. Fall Flu Shot Clinics

Fall flu shot clinics have begun at the Tang Center, 2222 Bancroft Way. The remaining clinics scheduled throughout the fall semester are on November 13; and December 1. The cost for staff, faculty, and members of the community (college age adults and above) is $25 regular vaccine/$30 thimerisol-free, $5/$6 for student SHIP members. No appointment is necessary. Invention Competition Gives Students a Real Shot at Innovation Success Winners to receive combined $32,500 in invention services assistance

SAN FRANCISCO (September 24, 2008) – AbsolutelyNew, Inc., a next generation consumer products company that brings independent inventors’ best ideas to market, has launched its First Annual Student Invention Competition to run through November 30, 2008. The competition gives high school and college students a chance to share their most inventive ideas for a chance to win professional assistance bringing the ideas to life and to market.
