Un Proyecto de Mitad de Curso
You are about to begin a project that will bring together all of the elements of the Spanish
language we have focused on so far this year.
You are a foreign exchange student in a Spanish speaking country. You will maintain a journal
and create a virtual Memory Book of the time you spent in this country. You decide the
country and use authentic places in the country as venues for the activities you will
describe in your Memory Book.
You maintain a journal of your activities to help you remember all of your experiences. You will
attach the pages of the Memory Book as hyperlinks on your journal page. Incorporate color
and creativity in all pages. Write a journal entry for each page of your Memory Book. (Page
descriptions follow.) Write 10 lines using a standard 11-point Ariel font for each page. Use
standard 1” margins.
Memory Book Pages

Chapter 9 - You participated in a skiing triathlon that was made up of a downhill race, a slalom
race and a 5K cross-country race. You competed against 5 other skiers. You give the skiers
names and determine which countries they represent. Decide who wins each race and create
the statistics. Use Excel to track the times of each skier, the difference between each skier’s
time and the first place time, and each skier’s placement in the race. Do this for each leg of the
triathlon as well as for overall outcome of the triathlon. Show graphs for each event as well as
overall outcome. (Combine results for individual races.) Vocabulario – triatolón, la carrera
(race).
Describe this experience in your journal. Be sure to incorporate the chapter elements listed in
the Project Checklist.

Chapter 10 – One of your competitors falls ill after the triathlon. You accompany him/her to the
hospital emergency room. You have to fill out the medical record for your friend. Use Word and
incorporate a table to create the Medical Record Form that you had to fill out. This form
should include all basic information about the patient as well as questions about his/her
symptoms. Fill in the form. The form, as well as the information you filled in, should be in
Spanish.
Describe this experience in the journal. Be sure to incorporate the chapter elements listed in
the Project Checklist.

with you to help you decide which beautiful beach to visit. One postcard really impressed you
and you decided to visit that beach. Create this postcard in Paint.
Describe your beach stay in your journal. Be sure to incorporate the chapter elements listed in
the Project Checklist.

Chapter 12 – In the Capital city, you attended a concert. Use the Draw tools in Word to create
the ticket you purchased for the concert. Be sure to include all information generally found on a

etc.
