upkeep, fuel, driver’s time and fixed costs such as road tax etc. This would enable
effective planning of traffic schedules.
Ability to play significant roles in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward
operational excellence.

campaigns currently delivered by government agencies and noted any changes to
numbers of accidents since their instigation. This established their impact had been
minimal.
Used graphs and charts, which compared statistics over a set time period and in
conjunction with other findings, concluded that the road infrastructure was the most
accountable factor. Designed alternative initiatives/formulated recommendations,
compiled written report and submitted for consideration
Examined job specifications and competency framework, which heightened awareness of
skills and attributes relative to logistics roles. This information would then be
instrumental in the development of staff and recruitment processes.
Identified the significance of staff training and periodical re-training and its effects on
production
Practiced the art of communication between parties through group discussion. This
highlighted the need for clear, concise and professional communications when discussing
operational matters and reduced the risk of misunderstanding.
Conducted investigation into ‘Death on the Roads’ using statistical evidence from
government agencies (DVLA and MTTU). Examined road infrastructure, number of
recorded accidents and weather conditions, which established the factors at play on the
