     Welcome to Austin, Texas and the 57th Annual Conference of the Society of Insurance Trainers and
     Educators (SITE).

     Austin is a small capitol city with a big reputation. They pride themselves in being “The Live Music
     Capital of the World” and they celebrate keeping it “weird” – embracing their community of artists and

     SITE’s 2011 Conference Committee Teams have been diligent and conscientious as they have created
     an outstanding experience for all attendees. The Program Committee has put together a variety of
     keynote speakers, presenters and workshops that address workplace challenges and opportunities for
     personal growth. I want to extend special thanks to Carolyn Hansen and her fantastic team for their
     hard-working efforts.

     For the next several days you have an opportunity to develop new business relationships and
     network with other insurance training professionals. You will participate in interactive workshops
     learning about useful tools. Exhibitors will gladly share solutions, expertise and services. The hotel’s
     close proximity to 6th Street will provide opportunities to listen to live music. Watch as over 1 million
     Mexican free-tail bats fly out from under the Congress Street Bridge adjacent to the hotel each night at

                                                                                                                                         group therapy, medical, vision and dental care, and
                                                                                                                                         educational assistance. Generally, children in emergency
                                                                                                                                         shelter care are here for less than 90 days.

                                                                                                                                     •   Long-Term Residential Care Long-term care is available for
                                                                                                                                         youth ages 16 and older who are still in foster care and need
                                                                                                                                         placement longer than 90 days and will last as long as
                                                                                                                                         necessary. Therapeutic services are offered to youth with
                                                                                                                                         emotional disturbances.

For several years, SITE has given a one-time $500 scholarship to an accomplished and deserving
student majoring in Insurance at the Katie School of Insurance, Illinois State University. In 2010, SITE
began awarding another scholarship to an Insurance major in the state that is hosting the annual
conference. The Board of Directors recognizes the ever-increasing costs of a university education and
increased that award to $1,000 in 2010.
