1) User can choose different mode by pressing the “device left” or “device right” key. Example: the present mode is HP
MediaSmart Connect, if the user presses the “device right” key, the TV device mode LED will be lighted, if the user
releases and presses the “device right” key within the following 3 seconds, the remote will enter CBL mode and the
CBL device mode LED will be lighted...... The device mode selection will be in opposite order if user presses “device left”
key.
2) The present mode of the remote control is DVD. When the user presses the “device left” or “device right” key, the DVD
mode LED will be lighted. If the user keeps the “device left” or “device right” key pressed for 5 seconds or above, the
remote control will enter into “setup” status under the present mode (the device mode LED will start blinking, and
blinking keeps unitl the “device left” or “device right” key is released)
3) Then user enters the 4-digit code which can be selected from below table unde the same brand, using the remote
numeric keys. Model LED will blink twice then then turn off, later the remote full backlit will light up, this indicates
sucessful setup.
If the remote cannot control your device after sucessful setup, please try again using other 4-digit code under the
relevant mode / brand.
4) If the setup is not successful, repeat above steps 1) ~ 3)
5) For a quick setup for Microsoft Windows Media Center, the 4-digit code is 5018 and/or 5020
Remark: “HP MediaSmart connect” device cannot be setup, the rest 4 devices can be setup, and Micrsoft MCE function can
be setup under anyone of the 4 devices, i.e. TV, CBL, DVD and AUX.
