Villa Marie’s Annual Memorial Service

Visit On April 11, our administrator, Tina Johnson, welcomed

the loved ones of our residents who died during the past

year to participate in a prayerful remembrance service.

We celebrated the service in the Activity Room where

our residents had gathered for an Interfaith Service, a

Communion Service and Mass each week. Their presence

among us was strongly felt as we recalled how often they had

come to worship in this very room. Accompanied by the

Mount Olive Baptist Church Choir, we were inspired by the

Scripture reading and reflection by Brother Mike Nichols,

memories shared by Sister Mary Helen Stokes, and the final

remarks and blessing by Deacon Steve Kliethermes. During

the celebration, volunteers Angie Kroll and Kathleen Eggen

solemnly read the name of each resident who had passed

as a candle was lit in their memory. Family members were

given the candle to take home.

Following the service, everyone joined together for

support and fellowship while enjoying homemade cookies,

punch and coffee. Many thanks to all who participated and

helped make the service possible.

Gratefully, Sister Mary Helen Stokes,

Pastoral Care Coordinator

Welcome to the Team!

Did you know?

When a person is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, abnormal changes

are taking place in the brain. With Alzheimer's disease, the parts of the brain

that control thinking, memory, and language no longer work properly and

symptoms start to appear. An accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

offers the best opportunity to start treatments that can help slow the

progression of symptoms.
