CONtrail and Cirrus ExpeRimenT

6 Flights

1 Test Flight

5 Scientific Flights

Coordination: Christiane Voigt, AEROTROP Group, DLR/Uni MZ

Scientific Goals

- Detection of microphysical, chemical and radiative

properties of contails and natural cirrus clouds to allow for

a better estimate of their impact on climate.

Main Questions:

- What are microphysical, radiative and chemical

properties of contrail-cirrus?

- How do they evolve with contrail age?

- How do they compare to natural cirrus?

2 Parts:

- CONCERT CHEMISTRY (with AMS)

- CONCERT 2 CONTRAILS (without AMS; with Aerosol Rack of DLR-IPA)
