DIGITAL TELEVISION
As I am sure many of you are aware, digital switchover will be commencing in
2008, Region by Region, starting in the borders. Every household will need to
be converted by 2012 as the old analogue TV signals will be switched off. An
information leaflet, which fully explains the process for switchover and the
timescale involved, can be obtained by visiting www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk.
People over the age of 75 will have one television converted free of charge,
and will also be given help with installation costs within 6 months of the
switchover starting.
I am seeking for your help.
There is a particular problem associated with “Multiple Dwelling Units” eg
flats, and also with privately rented accommodation. Do you know of anyone
living in this sort of accommodation? If so, would you please ask them to
contact me. I would like to ask them if their landlords are aware of the issue
and what they plan to do about the changeover.
