This kindergarten is affiliated with C&K.

Position Relationships
This position reports directly to the Director of the Centre. Other key relationships include
children, parents, the management committee and the C&K Early Education Consultant.

Purpose
    To provide a clean and hygienic environment.

Key areas of responsibility in respect to the centre
   Ensure that materials and equipment are kept in a safe and hygienic condition
   Ensure that materials and equipment are maintained and stored in a safe and
      appropriate manner
   Notify the director of any items that are unsafe or require maintenance
   Notify the director of any materials which need replacement/restocking
   Comply with all policies of the centre
   Comply with all state and federal legislative requirements
   Comply with the cleaning specification attached

Key responsibilities in respect to health and safety
   Be familiar with and practice the Fire and Emergency Evacuation Procedures as
      necessary
   Be familiar with and comply with the centre’s Workplace Health & Safety Policy and
      Plan
   Ensure the centre is appropriately secured upon completion of all duties

Selection Criteria

Experience :
    Previous experience in cleaning/maintaining environmental hygiene

Skills :
     An ability to work unsupervised

Knowledge :
   A sound understanding of cleaning practices
   A sound understanding of safe work practices (ie. Use of chemicals, risk
      identification/management, machinery operation, etc.)

Attitudes :
                                                                        Cleaner

   Must possess an conscientious attitude towards hygiene standards
   Must be able to demonstrate flexibility in work arrangements if necessary
   Must be prepared to become familiar with the relevant government acts/regulations
