ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS

TRANS #1

I. Three main views

A. Maximalist view - greater Israel

B. Centralist view - exact geographical points

C. Minimalist view - small Israel

II. Scriptural base for maximalist view

A. Genesis 15:18 "In the same day the LORD

made a covenant with Abram, saying, 'Unto your

seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt

unto the great river, the river Euphrates:' "

B. Two translation errors

C. Should be: Brook of Egypt - not the Nile River

D. Should be: Toward the Euphrates River - not

unto as in touching it

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #2

Due to translator error the map below in grey would be

the "Promised Land"

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #3

III. Scriptural base for minimalist view

A. Numbers 34:2-12 2) "...When you come into

the land of Canaan; ... 3) Your south border shall

be from the wilderness of Zin along the coast of

Edom and on to the southern end of the Salt Sea:

4) The border shall continue up the ascent of

Akrabbim, on to Zin and on south of Kadesh-

barnea; go from there to Hazar-addar, and on to

Azmon: 5) Then the border shall circle from

Azmon unto the river (Brook) of Egypt, and the go

out to the Great Sea. 6) The western border is the

Great Sea. 7) Your north border goes west from

the Great Sea to Mt. Hor. 8) From mount Hor go

north to the pass at Hamath; then south to Zedad:

9) Go on to Ziphron, and end at Hazar-enan. 10)

And your east border shall go south from Hazar-

enan to Shepham: 11) Continue on to Riblah, east

of Ain; and then descend to the east side of the

Sea of Chinnereth: 12) The east border shall

follow down the Jordan River to the Salt Sea: this

shall be your land with the coasts thereof round

about.

B. Minimalist view is indistinct

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #4

The black outline is Israel today.

The red map lines are the borders of the Promised

Land for the minimalists

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #5

IV. Scriptural base for centralist view

A. Joshua 13:1-3 and 4-6 1) Now Joshua was old

and weary in years; and the LORD said to him,

'You are old and weary in years, and yet there

remains very much land to be possessed. 2) The

land that remains unpossessed includes: all the

land held by the Philistines, and all Geshur. 3)

From Sihor, above Egypt, northward to Ekron,

which is counted to the Canaanite: five Philistine

cities; Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkalon, Gath, Ekron; also

the Avites:'

4) 'South from Geshur, all the land of the Canaan-

ites, to Mearah beside the Sidonians, to Aphek, on

to the borders of the Amorites: 5) And the land of

the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sun rising,

from Baal-gad under mount Hermon to the pass at

Hamath. 6) All the inhabitants of the hill country

from Lebanon unto Misrephot-maim, and all the

Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the

children of Israel: you shall divide it by lot unto the

Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded

you'."

B. Exact known, point to point boundaries.

C. Followed by exact tribal portions with city lists

along with exact borders.

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #6

The central valley of Lebonan clear to Hamath in Syria belongs

to Israel according to Joshua 13

Plus …..

The borders of Israel today and

including west Bank & the north 1/3 of the Gaza Strip.

Excludes southern Negev south of the red border line

ISRAEL'S BIBLICAL BORDERS TRANS #7

V. Where do we stand today?

A. Any part of the "West Bank" given to the

Philestines (Palestinians) must be retaken.

B. About one third of southern Lebanon and all the

Beka Valley must be taken and added to Israel.

C. The northern part of the Gaza Strip, north of

the Wadi El Arish (Brook of Egypt), must be retaken.

D. If the Golon Heights are given to Syria or if

Israel refuses to give them up; - either way will lead to

war: Isa. 17 & Zech. 9.

E. The northern portion of the country of Jordan,

Biblical Bashan and Gilead, must also be taken by Israel.

F. When will all these borders of the Promised

Land be establshed?

1. When Israel repents, GOD will enable these

borders to be set.

2. Romans 11:26 "And so all Israel shall be

saved: as it is written, 'There shall come out of Zion

the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness

from Jacob':"
