					iamasia ANNOUNCES CHINA'S TOP WEBSITES AND WEB PROPERTIES FOR HOME
INTERNET USERS, SEPTEMBER 2000

HONG KONG, 31st October, 2000 - Internet measurement specialist iamasia (Interactive
Audience Measurement Asia) today announced the top websites and web properties for home
Internet users in China.

For the second consecutive month, 163.com attracted the largest total number of individual
visitors during the month. Notable gains were made by microsoft.com, which moved from the
#10 spot in August to reach #5 in September, and 3322.net, which jumped 12 places to enter
the top 20.

The lineup for the top 15 web properties in September remains relatively unchanged compared
with the previous month, with NetEase sites still commanding the largest unduplicated home
audience in China, narrowly ahead of Sohu sites whose strong performance was bolstered by
the acquisition of chinaren.com. Another notable performer was eTang.com, Inc., rising to #8 in
the September ranking as a result of a sharp increase in visitors to the etang.com domain.

This information is based on data collected around the clock from iamasia's representative
panel of home Internet users in China. The panel data is weighted and then projected to the
entire home Internet-user population in urban China, covering 668 cities across the country.
Currently, iamasia's panel encompasses 4,800 people in 18 cities across the PRC.

Definitions:


Web property


A combination of related web sites and pages owned by the same company. For example, Microsoft is the owner of
microsoft.com, msn. com, passport.com and windowsmedia.com.


Unique users


The number of individuals who visited a particular website during the reported period.


Reach


Reach, expressed as a percentage, represents the number of unique users divided by the total number of home Internet users
during t he reported time period (in this case, the month of September 2000).
