OTHER METHODS


Aprisma's SPECTRUM management suite provides open, multi-vendor infrastructure management services. The suite includes support for network management, security management, applications management, IT portfolio
management and desktop management, assuring service delivery across the entire enterprise.. The SPECTRUM architecture supports a variety of clients, including, UNIX, Windows NT, and web browsers. To date, Aprisma has
developed management modules for over 1,000 network and security elements, as well as mission-critical applications. These modules leverage vendor specific information to intelligently correlate events across the entire
infrastructure, pinpointing the root cause of any service degradation.
eHealth gathers performance data by polling network devices, systems agenst, and response agents. It can also receive traps from devices and other software solutions. When a trap is received, it is automatically linked to historical
performance for the device (if historical information is available for that device).

Netcool Suite is based on an open, client-server architecture using Unix, Windows NT, and Wev browsers. Lightweight agents, called Netcool Probes & Monitors collect fault messages from throughout the network and forward them
to the Netcool Objectserver for filtering. Data collected from various devices and third party network network management systems is sent into Netcool OMNIbys, an in-memory ObjectServer database, where fault data is rapidly
processed, filtered and de-duplicated to turn the information into actionable intelligence. Several add-on software enhancements are included in the Netcool suite. Netcool/Impact brings visibilityto the impact that network problems
have on the business. Netcool/Precision adds auto-discovery, inventory, topology, and status monitoring. After the failed devices have been identified, Netcool/Visionary targets the causes of those failures. The suite of
Netcool/Usage Service Monitors (Netcool/USMs) is able to determine the devices on the Network through Cisco Netflow.



Net Optics Taps provide a permanent, passive access port for network management devices to gather data via any of the described methods. Network traffic flows uninterrupted through these passive taps, regardless of whether the
attached network management device is on or off, or whether power is available to the device (or the Tap). In addition, there are also significant advantages to using a Tap connection instead of a Span or Mirror port connection to
gather data. In an ideal scenario, Taps are deployed at every network node.
