PUBLICATIONS
Ms. Scharff is the author of several articles and book chapters on issues related to psychodynamic psychotherapy,
separation and divorce, and Collaborative Divorce (please inquire for specific references). Additionally, she is the
author of two books: Therapy Demystified: An Insider’s Guide to Getting the Right Help (Marlow and Co., Dec. 2004),
and (with Lisa Herrick, Ph.D.) Navigating Emotional Currents in Collaborative Divorce: A Guide to Enlightened Team
Practice (ABA Publications, Oct. 2010).


TEACHING

Ms. Scharff meets the criteria for trainers as set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. As a
senior Collaborative trainer she works nationally (both independently and as a faculty member of The Collaborative
Practice Training Institute) to train lawyers, mental health professionals, and financial professionals in the
interdisciplinary team model of Collaborative Practice.

Ms. Scharff has extensive experience in curriculum development, program development, supervision, outreach, and
direct teaching of mental health professionals on the graduate, post-graduate, and continuing educations levels
(please inquire for specific positions and topics/courses/seminars/conferences taught/developed by Ms. Scharff).


PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Ms. Scharff is a 1989 graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work. She obtained her psychotherapy
training at the Institute for Child, Adolescent and Family Studies in New York City (ICAFS), and the International
Psychotherapy Institute in Chevy Chase, MD (IPI). Ms. Scharff has to date completed over 60 hours of professional
training in Collaborative Practice, 16 hours of AFCC-approved training in parenting coordination, 16 hours of training
in custody evaluation, and 40 hours of training in divorce mediation.
