A study on regional needs, gaps and overlapping, in higher education and practitioners trainings
Adapt courses to needs identified above all in terms of water sector sustainability
Address sector expertise for consultancy and advocacy needs for sector development in the region

Through a multi-stakeholders consultation an assessment on regional needs in research and research
coordination in the water sector at regional level is carried out (also in collaboration with SPLAH,
VGT4Africa, AMESD and the EUWI)
In coordination with SPLASH a workshop is organised addressing dissemination of SPLASH results
related to research coordination and improvement of research and policy maker collaboration
In collaboration with EuropeAid a workshop is organised addressing SWAP and research relationship
(training of trainers)
Study for establishing regional needs in research and research coordination in the water sector based on
the previous actions

the ownership of the AquaKnow platform currently developed by the JRC. Therefore there are a series
of activities to the updating and carry out in AquaKnow: in the sector also through the AquaKnow
