Health is human’s basic need. What they eat or drink is having an in on their health.
These raise conscious thought to consume natural food and drink. It has been known that
natural food and drink have good impact to health. These natural food and drink can be
produced from processed nature’s product, such as fruits. One of fruits that can be processed
into healthy drink is grapefruit. Grapefruit’s compounds which have benefit for health are
lycopene, flavonoids, pectin, vitamin C, and some other vitamins and minerals. These
compounds have benefit in decreasing cholesterol, decreasing heart disease risk, normalizing
amount of hematocrit, and cleaning broken erythrocytes. Grapefruit also can be used as
antibacterial, anticancer, and antioxidant.
The ways to consume grapefruit’s pulp are eating it directly or serve as juice. It is a
new one that grapefruit is served as soup. This healthy drink contains grapefruit’s pulp within
milk or liquid palm sugar. As addition, shaved ice can make it fresher and keep its crispy
from the pulp longer. For further application, green gel leaf or other sliced fruit can be added
to increase the taste and other benefit for health. Even grapefruit soup is a new kind of fruit-
processed drink, but because of easy of making and the great healthy benefits those are
offered, make grapefruit soup will be well welcomed by society. Those make sure big
potential of grapefruit soup as healthy drink that can be consumed day to day and when
thirsty of course.
