    The fourth grade 2010 Writing Assessment consisted of 2 prompts: 1 Narrative prompt and 1 Expository
     Prompt. Each prompt consisted of 2 strands: Content, Organization and Style (COS) – worth 4 points and
     Conventions (CONV) – worth 2 points, for a total of 12 points.
    The 2011 grade 4 Writing Assessment will have no changes.

SCIENCE (Grade 5)


    The Fifth Grade 2010 Science Assessment consisted of
        o 2 inquiry scenarios
        o 1 system scenarios
        o 1 application scenario
        o 6 stand alone items
        o There were 26 multiple choice items (1 point) and 4 short answer items (2 points) for a total of 34
           points.
    The points were equally balanced between physical, Earth/space, and living systems.
