iFestival e-bulletin – 03.04.09
Welcome to the regular iFestival e-bulletin which gives readers
the latest news and information about the region-wide innovation
Festival (iFestival), taking place between 6th March and 17th
April 2009, and the wider innovation agenda.
Innovation is regarded as a key driver in creating a dynamic, knowledge focused East
Midlands economy, and it is identified as a priority in the Regional Economic
Strategy (RES). An increasingly competitive global market means that businesses and
organisations in the East Midlands must put innovation at the heart of their
core activities, if they are to improve productivity and competitiveness and stay ahead of
the game.
The iFestival is being coordinated by East Midlands Development Agency (emda)
with support from East Midlands Innovation (the Regional Science and Industry Council).
