IH Renal Network Becomes a

Program

 April 2010 the IH Renal Network officially became one

program reporting to VP Tertiary Services

 A small change on paper with a big impact

operationally.

 New Nephrologists at PRH and RIH

Celebrate Program Successes

 PRH renal team won a Patient Quality Award for the

Involved Care Unit

 Angela Romyn was recipient of the CANNT Amgen

Novice Researcher Award for her upcoming master’s

thesis work

 Karen Forsberg received a CRNBC Award of Excellence

in Nursing Practice

 Alietha Martin co-authored and published a paper in

the Canadian Journal of Nursing Research

 Congratulations to our RNs for obtaining their CNEPH

and to our newly graduated LPN’s

Facilities and Equipment

 The past year has seen the installation of new RO

systems in Invermere, Grand Forks and Kamloops. The

RIH RO being the first “heat clean” system in IH

 Renovation to the Invermere CDU

 Grand Forks CDU was relocated and 1 chair added

 New Artis Machines for KGH, VDU, RDU and KBRH

 2 additional Belco Machines for RIH

 Vascular Access Outreach (Kootenays)
