Newsletter October 2011
Dear Parents
Welcome back to what is going to be a very busy and exciting half term. I hope
you all had a nice break.
Please can I just remind you to make sure you sign your child in every day and
out when you collect them.
Please can you make sure that everything your child brings to pre-school is
clearly named, especially coats, hats and gloves. If you do lose anything we have
a treasure box on the front table where we put lost property in, please look in
it.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the changes we are making
to the garden. Over the last few weeks we have removed the plants and bushes
in preparation in creating a more natural garden. Whilst the children have really
enjoyed playing in the mud with sticks etc. we are aware that the weather is
changing and that the children have been getting rather dirty. The soiled area
has now been covered and the children have got things like coloured plastic
balls, shredded paper etc. in the garden. Also we are creating treasure hunt
activities along with putting up some drainpipes and encouraging the children to
use more natural objects to play with. This is just for starters, the garden will
be gradually improved over the next few weeks.
Christmas is only a matter of weeks away and we have got lots to do.
The first week we will be learning about Diwali. The children will be making Diva
lamps. We will then move on to Bonfire night and fireworks. The children will
learn how to stay safe around fireworks and bonfires. They will also be doing
some bonfire and firework pictures. If you could save and bring in any kitchen
roll/toilet roll middles I would appreciate it as we will be using them to make
some fireworks.
Friday 18th November is Children in Need. Please send your children in their
pyjamas and pay £1.00. All money will go to children in need
The first week in December starts our Christmas activities. All secrets so no
