Summer homework – Spanish II
You will use your dictionary weekly for the entire year. You need to bring it to class everyday.
Write your name on the spine and inside cover in permanent marker.
I recommend the Vox Compact Spanish English dictionary NO POCKET DICTIONARIES PLEASE.
You will receive 10 pts. for bringing your dictionary with name on it the first week of school.
II. Verb conjugation review
We don’t want to forget how to conjugate verbs while we are on vacation, so we will need to

Each time you log in, take 1 present tense regular verb test and 1 past tense regular verb test.
That’s two tests per time, times 1 time a month, times 3 months.
That’s 6 tests total. (2 times a month)
Print the results from each test to take. Label each test with your name and the date taken.
Staple these in a bundle and turn them in on the first day of school.

III. Pronunciation Practice
We also don’t want to forget how to use our dictionaries and how to pronounce words!
Choose one of the topics below, and make a list of 20 English words that fit the topic.
Highlight 15 of the words to memorize, and be prepare to take an oral quiz on the set you chose
(memorize the words, learn the meaning and learn how to pronounce them)

mar”, “El cuerpo” o “Palabras de la Escuela”
IV. Reading and listening

Once there you will see different stories. You will pick one and read it. To read the story you need to
click on the picture. After reading you will need to print the story to be able to follow the audio.
After reading it (be honest read it first!) you will go back to your story title. Under the picture for your
story there are two icons, one is for reading and the other one to watch your story and listen to it. Click
there and listen it several times, try to follow the story and pronounce the words. You can always stop
the story and go back and try to listen what you need to learn how to pronounce.
Practice, practice, practice! You will read your story the fist week of class! Total possible points: 100.
