Visit the Configuration screen to create a new Topic Profile (a selection of keywords / languages / regions, etc. that define a search) or
to review an existing search.
When your account is created, a Cision Suppot Representative will speak with you directly and create your Topic Profile(s) depending on your subscription.
Depending on your account you may have one or multiple Topic Profiles.


               To find and make changes to your Topic Profile, click the Configuration button on the top left corner of the Cision Social Media Dashboard.




                                                             The Topic Profile Manger Screen will appear.




                                                 Please Note: clicking on Add New Topic Profile will charge you for a new Topic Profile.

                                                 You will want to work within the Topic Profile(s) already created for you.

  Topic Profile Details


  Please Note: only the Topic Profile Owner can make changes to a Topic Profile.

  Keywords and Keyword Groups / Advanced Features
  Keywords refine your Topic Profile search and can be assembled in groups for convenience and to save configuration time later.

  While you can create keywords within the Simple setting (see Page 6), Advanced Features holds a lot of power. You will not lose any functionality by using the
  Advanced Features instead of Simple.

  Advanced Features provides more flexibility and allows you to monitor and look at different angles of interest. For example, you may want to look at specific
  campaigns or at competitor conversations. The Keyword Groups found within Advanced Features allow you to do this.




                                                                                                                                                    4. Choose a Group Type.
                  1. Click on Advanced Features.

   2. On the bottom left, click Add under Choose/Create Keyword Group.




                                                              3. Enter a Keyword Group Name.

                                                              While the Keyword Group title can be up to 45 characters, make it something you can easily recognize later.

  Keywords and Keyword Groups / Advanced Features Continued
  Topic Profile queries are easier than ever to configure using the Contains field, And Contains field, and Does Not Contain field.

  Each possible combination is covered in the search process with an ‘or’ operator between the combination of keywords you enter in the Contains and And
  Contains fields.
    • In the Contains field you enter all the variations of the Competitor, Brand, or Industry name you want to return results for.
    • In the And Contains field you can enter any descriptive keywords that are meaningful to you. This entire second set of terms in the And Contains field, will
      be combined with each of the variations of spellings of the Brand in the first Contacts field resulting in multiple combinations.
    • In the Does Not Contain field enter any keywords you want to exclude from you search results. The time saving benefit here is that you are mass applying
      And Contains to each of the terms in Contains.

  TIP: Keywords are not case sensitive but they are an exact match. Enter all the variations you can think of. A Topic Profile cannot return results for terms you
  have not asked it to.


  5. Depending on your needs, click Add or Edit under the Contains field to open the Query Builder.

  Repeat the following steps within the And Contains and Does Not Contain fields as needed.

                                        CONTAINS
                                                                       The Proximity Search works with the theme that you can refine your Topic Profile to get the most relevant
                                                                       content. Instead of getting results for keywords that may be widely separate within a post and thus unrelated,
                                                                       you can determine how close to each other the words must be in order to qualify as relevant results.
                                        AND CONTAINS
                                                                       With the Proximity Search feature you can go into the Topic Profile Manager, open the Keyword Query builder,
                                                                       and adjust the proximity slider to refine the search. The slider becomes active as the second word is being
                                                                       entered.

                                        DOES NOT CONTAIN                  • The default setting is exact or 0 which means the words form a phrase and can be used together within the
                                                                            sequence, not separated by any other word in the post. This setting is the only instance in which the order
                                                                            of the words is of any importance.

                                                                          • The widest setting is 20, meaning the words must appear in the post within 20 words of each other.

                                                                          • No Proximity means the terms/words can appear anywhere in the post and do not need to be near one
                                                                            another. The No Proximity also saves time because it places ‘and’ between each of the
                                                                            keywords you have entered. So instead of entering a number of keywords as separate additions to the
                                                                            search, you can enter them all in one sequence in the field and check No Proximity.

                                                                       Click Preview to view a sample of Posts that will be retrieved using those keywords.
                                                                       Click Done to accept the Keywords.

      Select Simple beneth Keyword and Keyword Groups.

      1. Click Add Keywords to open the Query Builder.

                                 The Proximity Search works with the theme that you can refine your Topic Profile to get the most relevant content. Instead of getting results for

  Sentiment Subjects
  Sentiment Subjects are simply things you want to measure sentiment about. For example, your Brand.

  A sentiment rating is applied automatically by Cision but it is by nature something that can be difficult for the platform to evaluate from post wording alone. For example,
  if someone posts a sarcastic comment saying how they love the new price increase on a product when they clearly mean the opposite.

  Therefore, It is always best to examine the post afterward to determine for yourself if it is positive or negative. Most will be neutral and express no strong sentiment at all.

                                                                                           Within your Topic Profile select Sentiment Subjects.

                                                                                           1. Click Add Sentiment Subject.

                                                                                           2. Enter the Subjects for which you would like the system to determine Sentiment.

                                                                                           3. Click Save Topic Profile Changes.

                                                                                           An important thing to remember is that you can enter only one subject. Typically you
                                                                                           are going to want to focus on one brand or one product. You will need to omit all of your
                                                                                           competitors as you cannot enter them here. The reason for this is is best explained with
                                                                                           this example: if we find a post that says “I love Starbucks! Dunkin’ Donuts just doesn’t
                                                                                           compare” and we have both Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts listed as a Sentiment Subject,
                                                                                           it would confuse the algorithm and would not know whether to monitor sentiment around
                                                                                           Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts. Therefore you would not get an accurate sentiment reading.

                                                                                           Sentiment filtering of more than one Brand should be done at the widget level and opening
                                                                                           the Topic Analysis widget from your search results.




   Influencer Widget EQ Weightings
   Customize the values that determine an individual site’s influence with respect to Topic Profile
   Keywords.

   1. To change the importance of a metric, click on its slider and drag it up or down. Repeat for the
   other metrics.

   2. Click Save Topic Profile Changes.

   Please Note: only Topic Profile Owners can change these settings.

Projects
Users within your Cision Social Media account can be group within Project Teams. Projects are used when you want to control visibility options or in
viewing the assignment of tasks to these other users.

To create and manage Projects, click on Projects at the top of your Configuration screen.




                      Any pre-configured Projects will appear within the list on the left.




          1. Click Add New Project. The Create a New Project dialogue box appears.

          2. Enter an appropriate title and click Done.                                           Since you are shown as the creator of this Project,
                                                                                                  you are automatically listed as a Project Member or as a selected user.




    3. To add other users to the Project, select as many as you like from the Available Users List and click
    the sign to add them to the Selected Users List.

    When you apply this Project only the users in the Selected Users box will be able to see it.                              4. Click Save Changes.

Client Details

One of the main differences between a tool and a platform is a platform allows the functionality of your social media listening and engagement strategy to
be scaled across the organization. Begin by taking the administration capabilities in-house to determine the opportunity to engage new users.

Super Users can create user accounts and assign user roles. From users with full permissions to simple read-only accounts, Super Users can enable their
team to access just the features they need and also look within the Client Details tab to see all the information about all their Topic Profiles and users,
allowing for enhanced administrative functions.




                                                                                           2. The Cision Add New User Form will open.

                                                                                           Enter a Display Name, Email/Username, and Role.

                                                                                           Upon completion, this request will be sent to the Cision Team for Order
                                                                                           Processing, the user, and other pre-configured email addresses listed with
                                                                                           the Topic Profile.

                          1. Click Add New User.




                      All Topic Profile details may be exported to a CSV file.
