Electronic books
Electronic books are books that are available on the Internet. They may also
be available in print format.
There are currently two main suppliers of electronic books to NHS staff in
University Hospitals of Leicester.
Books@Ovid : a small collection of medical textbooks from the ABC series
MyiLibrary – a collection of predominantly mental health books and World
Health Organization literature, with additionally a collection of the Oxford
Handbooks
The following pages will explain how to find and access titles from these
suppliers.
Other sources of e-books
There are other sources of full text electronic books in health and medicine.
These free books are not generally included in the library catalogue or My
Journals index. You will need to search them directly or use an appropriate
search engine. Some examples are listed below. Links are available from the
library web pages at http:www.uhl-library.nhs.uk. Follow the links to “online
resources” then “electronic books”.
