Basic Stones for Ritual and Healing
Amber: transmutes negative energy into positive, relieves depression and stress,
motivates action and decision-making, good overall chakra cleanser, grounds

Amethyst: a stone of high spiritual vibrations, clean the aura, protects against psychic

digestive tract, primarily associated with the throat and crown chakras.
Aventurine (green): enhances prosperity, can be used to “grid” a home or garden to

Blue Lace Agate: a stone with cooling and calming energy, associated primarily with

Carnelian: the stone motivates and energizes the individual while keeping their mind on

mental abuse and the resulting negative self image, helpful in matters of
business, can help with impotence, female fertility, lower back problems,

Citrine: a general cleanser and regeneration, both warming and stimulating in its affect;
it is primarily associated with the solar plexus and navel chakras, but can be
used to “open” the crown chakra; encourages a positive outlook, protects
sensitive individuals, encourages one to take criticism constructively, aligns the
subtle bodies with the physical, a stone of financial prosperity; is also used to
treat cellulite, constipation, and other ailments concerned with the storage of
bio-pollutants; balances hormones, one of the few stones that never needs
cleansing.
Emerald: a stone of inspiration and financial success, promotes patience, fidelity, love,
and successful partnerships; it opens the heart chakra and calms emotions, can
help with recovery after a long illness, can be used to treat sinuses, heart,
lungs, spine, and muscle complaints; it can also soothe the eyes and alleviate
rheumatism and diabetes.
Flourite: a protective stone, promotes impartiality, increases organization, helps groups
come together in a common goal, dissolves “old” patterns of behavior that may
no longer be in the best interest of the individual, bolsters self-confidence and
dexterity, is used to treat teeth, bones, and respiratory tract; has a beneficial
effect on a cold, flu, or sinusitis, alleviates nerve-related pain and skin
conditions, increases sexual desire.
Garnet: a strong energizing stone, enhances the survival instinct and the individual’s
ability to cope with a crisis, balances and reenergizes the chakra energy,
improves discernment with regards to other people, dissolve behavior patterns
that no longer benefit the individual, inspires love and sexual desire, balances
out the emotions and increases confidence, purifies and energizes the blood,
assists in the assimilation of vitamins and minerals.
Hematite: a grounding and protective stone, has strong masculine energy and can
balance out individuals with an overabundance of feminine energy, increases
self esteem and focuses the individuals attention on survival, useful in over-
coming compulsions and addictions (i.e. overeating or smoking), strengthens
and regulates blood circulation, stimulates absorption of iron and production

Jade: promotes tranquility and recognition of one’s spirituality, increases love and
nurturing, attracts good luck and friendship, reduces anxiety and stabilizes the

so they can be acted upon in a timely manner, promotes insightful dreams,
supports the waste elimination organs of the body such as the kidneys and bladder.
Jasper (red): a nurturing stone, provides support for people during times of stress or

promotes organization, being honest with oneself, and determination,
primarily associated with the root and sacral chakras, can be used to treat

Lapis Lazuli: opens the third eye and balances the throat chakra, useful in dream work,
