Position Purpose:
The Registered Nurse shall furnish services in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, and shall be
utilized in accordance with basic principles of the professional nurse. All functions shall be
performed in accordance with the established policies and practices of Agency and/or the particular
institution in which the registered nurse is assigned. The Registered Nurse performs functions
which require substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and skill based upon the principles of
psychological, biological and social sciences and must be able to make nursing judgments
accordingly. The Registered Nurse reports directly to the Nursing Supervisor.

Qualifications: Professional and Personal:
     Have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.
     Be currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
     Previous nursing experience preferred.
     Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate nursing judgments.
     Possess good interpersonal communication and teaching skills.
     Exhibit professional behavior.
          Possess and maintain good physical and mental health, including current TB testing
           (refer to Health Screening policy).
     U.S. Citizen or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit.
Specific Functions/Responsibilities:
     Provide quality, professional nursing care.
     Demonstrate dependability.
     Maintain a safe environment for clients.
     Make the initial assessment visit and regularly re-evaluate the client's nursing needs.
     Initiate the Plan of Care and make necessary revisions.
     Provide those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills.
      Maintain an accurate clinical record preparing clinical and progress notes with follow
      through of timely record keeping.
     Initiate preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures and techniques.

     Communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
          Inform the physician, Nursing Supervisor and other personnel of changes in the client's
          condition and needs.
      Perform therapeutic procedures prescribed by the physician.
      Supervise and teach professional and paraprofessional staff per agency guidelines.
       Work with families and other health care professionals in providing continuity of client
       care.
      Counsel the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
       Demonstrate knowledge of current health practices when performing observation and
       evaluation of client care.
       Function adequately whenever assigned to a specialty assignment after qualifying with
       specialty training, proven competency, clinical background and experience in the
       specialty area.
             Assume responsibility for professional growth and development by active participation
              in continuing education, in-service programs, orientation and personal evaluations.
      Accept and fulfill assignments with Agency.
      Exercise judgment in accepting assignments.
      Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Position Purpose:
     The Licensed Practical Nurse shall perform in accordance with state and local laws and within
    the guidelines of his/her professional organization. All functions shall be performed in
    accordance with the established policies and practices of Agency and the particular institution in
    qualified by education, training, experience and demonstrated abilities to give nursing care under
    the direction of a registered nurse, and to have knowledge of the principles of psychological,
    biological and social sciences. The Licensed Practical Nurse reports directly to the Nursing
    Supervisor.

Qualifications: Professional and Personal:

       Have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.
       Be currently licensed in the State of Minnesota.
       Have at least one (1) years experience in an acute hospital or equivalent experience.
       Exhibit professional behavior and attitudes.
       Possess and maintain good physical and mental health, including current TB testing (refer to
      Health Screening policy).
       Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.
       Possess good interpersonal communication skills.
       U.S. Citizenship or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit.

Specific Functions/Responsibilities:
     Provide professional quality nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse.
     Furnish services in accordance with Agency policies.
     Prepare clinical and progress notes.
     Assist the physician and Registered Nurse in performing specialized procedures.
     Prepare equipment/materials for treatments observing aseptic technique as required.
     Demonstrate dependability.
     Maintain a safe environment for the client.
     Accurately follow client care plan and monitor condition per client plan of care.
     Perform direct client care.
     Maintain an accurate clinical record by documenting in accordance with Agency policy.
     Initiate rehabilitative nursing procedures techniques as appropriate.
    Communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
    Initiate appropriate communication with the Nursing Supervisor and physician when directed
     to do so.
    Perform therapeutic procedures per plan of care established by the Nursing Supervisor in
     conjunction with the physician.
    Work effectively with members of the health care team.
    Promote health counseling.
    Perform independently after initial direction from the Nursing Supervisor.
    Assume responsibility for professional growth and development by actively participating in
     continuing education, inservice programs, orientations and personal evaluations.
    Accept and fulfill assignments with Agency and exercise judgment in accepting assignments.
    Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
